No picture here yet, but happy birthday to my
wonderful hubby today!!!

Schools everywhere are starting up again for the fall, including universities like Michigan Tech. That's where Chris Beaudoin (better known on the Pasty Cam as "Dunerat"), brought his son Greg, for his freshman year. The first day of school is always an emotional one and dropping your kid off hundreds of miles from home is no exception. Here's what Chris had to say about the adventure:

"We were UP for a few days of vacation before getting my son set up for his freshman year at Tech, then got him checked in to MTU and his dorm room over the weekend. The photos here start with kind of a before-entry inspiration shot of Greg up on Mount Brockway, then a series of images from student check-in, getting into his dorm room, and a scene from the student and parent welcome event at the MacInnes Student Ice Arena. That last one, Fistbump, was a pretty emotional moment, but in the end, how bad can you feel when your son is starting at MTU?

I was totally impressed by the outstanding planning and on-the-scene assistance provided by so many student and staff volunteers at MTU; they truly made the process smooth, welcoming, and inspiring to all the new students. Go Huskies!"

Always an exciting, and yet in some ways
terrifying, experience. I'm sure he will have a
great time at MTU!! Houghton is a great town.

These photos sure tug at my heartstrings, Dunerat! Both of our kids attended Michigan Tech. It was quite an experience for all of us! Great fistbump photo. Wishing Greg, and you, the very best as he embarks on his career at MTU!!
