Mary Drew at Pasty Central (Mdrew) on Saturday, April 30, 2016 - 06:46 am:

I can't believe it's the end of the month already here on the Pasty Cam. That means it's time to pause from our daily routine and remember those that have gone on before us:

Robert J. Andrews, Jr.
Ray Dube, Jr.
Charles Don Hannula
Edie (Cobb) Hopper
Oliver J. Rosseau
Servicemen and women who have given their all

Among the folks we honor this month, we lost a very special lady here at Pasty Central, Edie Hopper. She always had a smile for everyone she met and if you were lucky, you got to be a part of the joy she lived and shared, along with her laughter that came from being happy in her life. If you missed her memorial service audio recording (One hour & 14 minutes in length) that Charlie posted earlier, here's a link to listen. It was a beautiful tribute, to a beautiful lady: Edie (Cobb) Hopper: April 3, 1953-April 21, 2016.

Please feel free to add the names of those that you'd like to remember on this page also. Special thanks to Taana Kalliainen for the beautiful sunrise to remember those near and dear to us.

Therese (Therese) on Saturday, April 30, 2016 - 07:49 am:

For my Aunt Mary Adams, who died in December in
Traverse City and who will be buried in May in East
Tawas. She is my Dad's youngest sibling. There is
only Uncle Tom left from that large family. I miss
them all.

By Richard J. (Dick_fl) on Saturday, April 30, 2016 - 07:49 am:

I'd like to remember my best friend Mark Bowlby. He always wanted to come and fish the Yoop but never quite managed to get out of his beloved North Georgia mountains. Although I was Army and Mark was a Marine we were still as close as brothers. Semper Fi Mark, Semper Fi. Someday we will still go fishing in paradise.

Condolences to everybody who lost a loved one this
month. Therese, I know that feeling. In my family,
there are only 2 people left from both my mom's and
my dad's side. There's just my mom and a sister-
in-law. It's hard watching them all go. And Dick,
so sorry for the loss of a good friend. That's
another difficult thing.

Beautiful sunrise today to remember Edie. It's nice
that Charlie posted the service for everybody to
listen to. Praying for her family every day.

By Phil Kuusisto (Pkuusisto) on Saturday, April 30, 2016 - 08:42 am:

From Neale Donald Walsch's Conversations with God:

"On this day of your life, I believe God wants you
to know

...that there is a family reunion awaiting you,
and you will be more overjoyed than you can now
begin to imagine.

On the day you leave your body -- what I like to
call your Continuation Day -- you will be greeted
by everyone you have ever loved in any way for any
reason...and, standing in front of the group,
every person who has been so very dear to you. It
will be a grand and glorious reunion, with joy and
laughter and pure wonderment filling every heart
and soul!

This has also been experienced by everyone who has
ever left here -- all those who have gone before
you -- of course.

So do not grieve for them. They are so very
happy!"

April is a month of loss in our family, brothers, aunts, cousins. We remember them all with fond memories.

Have to say that last Sunday, when Charlie said he watched the sunset for both he & Edie, it brought tears to my eyes thinking about our month end tradition here at Pasty Cam. And now we remember her again.

So many special pictures in today's review. I love them all. As we
turn the pages of the year, I always feel a special tug on my heart
on the last day of the month. I'm glad we have this special tribute
on Pasty Cam where I always sense that we Cammers "share each
others' woes" and fond memories.

Remembering my mom Adeline who passed away April 19, 1998. Hard to believe it has been 18 years already. We think of her often and miss her her everyday.

I'm remembering my wonderful brother and life-long
friend, John, who passed away two weeks ago. He was
so strong during his fight against cancer, and is
dearly missed by all of his family and friends. May
he rest in peace.

By Kathyrn Laughlin (Kathyl) on Monday, May 2, 2016 - 08:38 am:

In memory of my dad, Bob Laughlin, who passed away 5 years ago in April, right before Easter that year. The support we received from family and friends, including our church family, was a help. And I feel for all other families whose loved ones also have Alzheimer's, as my dad did.
