Elaine Robbins snapped these photos of Centennial #6, a week ago, when she decided to walk from her home on Pine St. in Calumet, to the Pasty.NET offices behind the HUT in Kearsarge. Why was she headed to the Pasty Office? Because she was picking up her complimentary calendars as one of the photographers featured in the new 2016 Pasty Cam Calendar, along with several extras for gifts. They really turned out great again this year and are available either by ordering online here: 2016 Pasty Cam Calendar or if you're local, you can purchase them in the office during regular office hours: M - F - 9:00 to 5:00. Call: (906) 337-5979 or 1-877-727-8911

They make great Christmas gifts and don't forget to treat yourself to one, too!

Back to Elaine's photos today. On her way back from picking up her 2016 Pasty Cam Calendars, she took a walk down the Centennial #6 road to take a look at the old mine buildings there on the grounds. Elaine said there were pickup trucks at some of the old buildings and some heavy equipment on the property, too. She also spotted the signage in the third photo, designating it the Keweenaw Copper Company and she added, "Perhaps a 'sign' of things to come."

I admit I was unaware of this, so I searched the Internet and found their webpage here: HighlandCopper.com. The webpage contains a wealth of information about what the company is doing, including a special section on the Keweenaw project, which you can find here: Keweenaw Copper and the White Pine North project, which you can find here: White Pine. Check it out!

Charlie should be back next Sunday for another Shoebox Memory. As he would say... Have a good week :o)

Wow, this was a close one; almost missed today's
post.

My thanks to Mary for filling in on short notice. I would not have made it back in time to do today's Shoebox Memory. These current pictures remind us of the glory days of the Copper Country, which went right along with Sunday's Day in History.

I've spent some time on the top of Brockway with our annual cutover from solar to wind power for the relay which delivers unlimited broadband to Pasty.NET members west of the Mountain, from Eagle Harbor all the way to Sunset Bay Campground on 5 Mile Point Road. Thankful that the snow has waited so long this year :o)

What a great team! Once again you kept the string alive!

What Jbuck said!!!;)

That building looks top-heavy, especially in that second photo.

Just had to jump in to mention that Highland Copper has already
come and gone from Centennial #6. They were using Centennial #6
as the base of operations for Keweenaw explorations, but earlier this
year they stopped their Keweenaw operations to focus on the
Copperwood (west of the Porcupine Mountains) and White Pine
operations instead.
