While in the Grand Marais area recently, Brenda Leigh and friends visited the beach, where they found a couple great tee pees, built right there on the shore. One was quite a long distance down the shoreline and even had a fire pit in it with benches. You can see the size of them with the third photo of Brenda standing in the middle of one of the tee pees.

They also spent some time picking rocks on the beach. She said because of their rock picking, their friend Frank from Texas (in the fifth photo) has a new addiction. You can see in the photo, that it was a bit wavy that day and Brenda said Frank was hit by a pretty big wave, getting soaked in the process, but he still loved the experience. The two of them picked about twenty pounds of beautiful rocks!

The last two shots are just some examples of the rest of the beauty found there on the Grand Marais shoreline. Brenda's last photo is something else, with the horizon glowing and the beach lit up, too. Looks like a great place to watch the sun rise and/or set!

Those are all pictures that make me want to visit Grand Marais again. The last picture looks like a mythical warrior has discovered the Grand Marais Lake Snake on shore and is dragging him back into the water.
