The Keweenaw County Historical Society held their 7th annual Music Fest at the Historic Gay School recently. Richard Mentken was on hand to snap a few photos. The event always has a number of talented artists there to perform and all of them donate their time and talents to raise money for the KCHS Gay School Restoration Fund.

This year the performers included:

Jim and Teri Enrietti, with Don Masnado - The World's Most Dangerous Polka & Variety Band
Sound Waves
Singin' Sheriff, Ron Lahti, Dick Storm and Ken & Mary O'Connor
The Variations

Attendees enjoyed the music, along with goodies from the concession stand. They also could bid on items at the Live and Silent Auctions being held to raise money, too. People brought their chairs to sit on the lawn and enjoy the day, with quite a few of them seeking shelter from the sun under the pavilion there on the grounds. It's a great way to raise funds and enjoy some good tunes at the same time.

FOOTNOTE: Yesterday's shots of the changes at Great Sand Bay from Paul & Nathalie Brandes were pretty interesting. If you missed them, just click here: Friday, Aug. 7th, to take a look at them!

Looks like a good time was had by all!

Nice pavilion and some nice benches too. The Keweenaw County Historical Society has really worked hard to restore the school, not to mention provide an enjoyable outing for folks.

Looks like it was too early for Capt Paul to be in the parade this year.

Really looks like fun. It's just amazing how many
small town festivities we saw on our way home back
to Minnesota today. Early August must be a
popular time to host these things. When we got
home here, Annandale was having their annual art
crawl. Lots of vendors and lots of artists were
on hand to try to sell their art. My daughter-in-
law had a very good day at her shop here in town.
Everybody looked like they were having so much
fun.
