Barb Bouwkamp shares some of the flowery beauty she's come across lately here UP North. Her first three photos are of some bright orange tiger lilies and mock orange tree blossoms, which Barb said smell quite wonderful! I just love the colors of summer, not to mention the scents that go along with many of those colors.

The last two photos made me chuckle. Barb said this goose must have had some babies nearby, as it was hissing at her the whole time she was trying to take a picture. They sure are protective of their young…and just for the record, when they clamp that bill down on you, it hurts! ;-)

There's a patch of Day-lilies with their beautiful yellowish blossoms in my yard and they bloom profusely every year.
Also have a family of geese around my pond every spring.

when we lived downstate, there was a swampy area by where we lived. we would see momma goose on the nest and daddy was by the small road. I would try and take pictures but, daddy always stopped me. one time we just stopped to take a look and daddy goose attacked the truck. very protective.

You have to break the ice...make peace, not war. If they had lips, I'd give them a big kiss.

Love those lilies. I'm seeing so many
beautiful ones in my yard right now in so
many colors. But we're seeing more
turkeys than anything. Love watching mom
and all her babies walking down the trail.
My cat chases mom. I don't think he
realizes just how big that mom really is.
