Had a visitor and her two horses travel through Ontonagon a few weeks ago. Bernice Ende started out in Montana and found her way to Maine, all by horseback with a pack horse traveling behind. On her way home she came through Canada and down into the UP. This lady is incredible, check out her comments about the UP.

Though the horseback story was interesting, it was temporary. Where the pictures of the U.P. are permanent. My preference are the pictures posted here daily. They don't just ride through.

I am really surprised Janie t. would say that about a horse story.

I do not know if it is my computer, but when I click on whats up, to the right of the picture, I get a page that says that page no longer exists. so....if I want to read a previous day of whats up I can not get it. i can get it by going into the archives, if you will, but it is not for the previous days postings.

why does it seem people are so critical about other peoples postings? as long as Mary Drew does not come out and say something about it, just keep posting something else every so often. it makes it a little bit more interesting than to just read, i like the pictures.

also, i do not know if there is still a page to post other topics of conversations. i do not do facebook or anything like that.

WAVEVACTION, thank you, for posting that. it had stories about the U.P. on it. a little bit of change is nice. there were pictures of the u.p. some places and stories of the u.p.

I don't have a problem with people posting
"other" things... what I do have a problem
with though, is criticizing other people's
posts. If you don't like reading what
pictures the other visitors like, then
just move on to another post. Saying
someone's post is boring is not polite...
period.
Remember that it is like you are in our
"living room". I would hope you wouldn't
tell one of our guests there, that their
conversation is boring.

Thank you for pointing that out, Mary...I always thought that is what this website was all about. If people are going to put in the time and effort into taking photos of a place we all love, then I want to give the photographers the respect of viewing and commenting on them.

Yes, I 2nd what Alex said. It's why I come to
this site...I love the pictures. If I would
never have anything to say about the pictures
that are posted, even if it's just to say that I
like them, then I wouldn't post anything. That's
why they share their pictures....for the
enjoyment of others. And I, for one, get a lot
of enjoyment from visiting this site and seeing
so much beauty. And I don't even care if it's
pictures we've seen before. Somebody always
seems to capture something different. And if
not, I still like to see them again. So thank
you to all who contribute to this site, whether
it's taking the pictures or keeping it up and
running. We appreciate you.
