Even though these pictures here today from Barb Bouwkamp mean that the temperatures were cold and frigid when she snapped them, you can't help but admire the beauty all that chilliness creates.

I'm not sure where the legend of Jack Frost originates from, but he certainly is quite an artist with nature's icy displays upon your window panes. And like each individual snowflake being unique, with no two alike, I think that also holds true for frost the spreads across your windows. They all have a "feathery" quality to them, but after that observation, each one takes on its own design and only the sun and warmth can stop it.

These are another of those beautiful happenings of nature that we don't always notice or we notice them and are in a hurry to scrape them off the window so we can continue on with getting to where we need to go for the day. I'm grateful for all the photographers, like Barb, that take the time to stop and capture these artistic beauties, so we don't miss them completely.

The snow-sitting shot of Art Hill is included at no extra charge :o) A Shoebox Memory we featured back in 2003, enjoying all of this winter beauty up close and personal.

Nice pix! I see mosquitoes, bushes, tree limbs covered with leaves and a flock of birds. And I don't know Jack :-)

Great captures of the handiwork of Mr. Frost. Thank you for sharing them. If winter was a bird, frost would be it's feathers.
