The Keweenaw Photo Shop

Photo Album 17

This page is devoted to those of you who wish to share your photos of the Copper Country with those who visit this site. If you have a photo or two or three that you would like to share please send electronic copies to me and I will be happy to display them here. If you don't have access to a scanner and would still like to have your photos displayed here just send me a note and we will work it out. It's a good way to get your photos scanned for free and have fun sharing your work with others in the process. Hope to hear from you soon. (Kevin Musser)

The Photos of Brian Juntikka

Broadcasting his Polka radio show from 2-4pm on 26 stations across the U.S., Brian  has more Polka history in his head than seems possible and the most complete knowledge of the phone systems of the Keweenaw, that again, more than any one person should hold in one's head and still has room for his many stories of growing up in the South Range/Alantic area, owning a bar in South Range and now living in Forida.

Thank you for all your help over the years Brian and the interesting conversation, always interesting.

Here are some of Brian's photos from 1972, near the end of the Copper Range.

At Twin Lakes in the summer of 1972 we find Copper Range 101 pulling a load of wood past the Penegor Sawmill.

August 1972 at Twin Lakes.  This is engine 101 parked on the mainline. You can tell train isn't moving because headlight is off.

CRRR 100 & 101 pulling empty ore cars back to Painesdale. I took this one at 4th Street in South Range - looking north as train is heading south.
