Recently I was able to visit my parents in the Iron River area. In my free time I attempted to go hunting but unfortunately the only "shots" I got off were with my camera. This is a picture of an old barn that is on the property. Hope you enjoy.

Excellent, Andrew! Reminds me of one of the scenes I saw several times while hunting this season, near Hungarian Falls-the Aho farm on Dover Rd., i think:) I too, would have done better w/ a camera this season...

I grew up about 15 miles from Iron River (Crystal Falls). That barn looks very familiar to me. Is it on US 2 heading west out of Iron River?

Mike,
This barn is located in the Sunset Lake area in Bates Township. You must be thinking of a different one that I'm not familiar with...

The one I was thinking of was a few miles west of town. There was a Motel on the left, off the road a bit, and a little further up on the right there was an old farm. It has been quite a few years since I've been out in that area so it may look nothing like that now but that's what I remember.

A beautiful picture nontheless Andrew. Looks to be a bit chilly that day. I remember the Bates area very well. My friends and I were stopped for speeding in that area several times when travelling back and forth between C.Falls and Iron River. Seemed to be a favorite spot for the State Troopers back then.
