Over the past weekend there were many visitors to Estivant Pines, as part of the "Exploring the Keweenaw" activities. Here's a good perspective of these giants, taken by Peggy Riemer, surrounding daughter Rose, who is no stranger to the Pasty Cam.

Pasty Cam has become one of my favorite sites. We recently spent 6 days in the Keweenaw, hiking Estevant Pines, and searching for Bare Bluff. I hope someone comes up with a VERY DETAILED description on how to get there from the Bete Grise road. We'll be back in the Keweenaw for some cross-country skiing in the winter, for sure. Got to patronize those Pasty Cam sponsors.

I have been there many times and it truly is a God's creation. I was born and raised in the Copper Country and would love to return if I only could convince the other half. She figures nine months of winter and three months of rough sledding is out of the question. I'll keep working on her.

You will find the Pines in Copper Harbor. Upon entering Copper Harbor you will make a right on US41 and take that to Second Street (right). You will see Lake Fanny Hooe Resort and pass by the Maganese Falls and follow that to the Estivant Pines sign. You will make a left and follow on the road til you see an outdoor privy. Park and there will be a trail sign indicating the two trails that you can walk.

And my wonderful mother Florence is still living in her house in Calumet in good health. She will celeberate her 89th birthday in November.
