The road less traveled
Riding the rails

Today's shot from the lens of Jon Jacobson was taken at Rudyard, midway between Sault Ste Marie and St Ignace, in the Eastern U.P.

Robert Halonen on Thursday, August 10, 2000 - 08:55 pm:

My home town! I don't know what made me think that as sson as I saw this picture, but I was right! An early imprint, I guess. This looks like possibly a view from the east end of the bridge over the Pine River, looking ENE toward town. Am I right on that one?

By Jon Jacobson on Friday, August 11, 2000 - 09:31 pm:

To answer the question above, yes, it is over the Pine River looking into Rudyard. And Charlie's description couldn't be more accurate, with the crickets and gentle summer heat. The only thing missing from this after-dinner stroll was a deer and/or the Soo Line train.
