The season got off to a slow start, but old man winter is making up for lost time. I ran into Tony Bausano this afternoon at the Burger King in Calumet, and he bemoaned the fact that somebody must have done the Heikki Lunta dance a little too long. It sure makes the snow thermometer contest more interesting though (see George's Eagle Harbor Web)

And if all this makes you shiver, just think back to those 90+ degree days in August that were so miserable. Reminds me of that old verse:

As a rule, man's a fool
When it's hot he wants it cool
When it's cool he wants it hot
What it is, he wants it not.

Warmer days

Oh I love the winter, the summer is so miserable.

Even if it is 65-70, I can't wait till fall/winter!!!

Was in Eagle Harbor yesterday. No room to complain out there.Their entire snowfall for the year is what I cleaned from my driveway in the last 2 days here in $Bay!!! Must be at least 10" again today.Heikki Luntta MUST GO AWAY. I'm going back to bed.

Theres a beauty in bleakness.

It's 55 degrees and raining (again) here in the Sacramento area -- I have to admit I'd rather hear the drips than bundle up and shovel (AGAIN), but I don't find these pictures bleak -- they're just a picture of something beautiful taking a little nap until spring. Looking at the cold and snow from this far away still makes me shiver, but longingly.

To have four distinct seasons like you do up there is what I miss the most about the UP. My favorite season is winter! Give me the snow, cold, and frosty air! By the way, we were up there in August in the 90+ degrees, and high humidity. That's what made us decide it's time to leave.

To Greta Ca
Just on a wild guess, did you live in a yellow house in Laurium? If yes, Hello! cousin!

Hey MCR--beauty in bleakness or what...look at those clouds in the first picture. Incredible!

To Greta, CA

Is this the same Greta who hosted the Peterson Reunion in 2000, San Bernardino, CA? If so, Hello! This is the Yooper Games co-host.

Very nice country.Does anyone know what type boat that is in between the buildings ,is it an old Coast Guard surf boat?

By Greta, Ca on Saturday, January 5, 2002 - 05:23 pm:

To Kathy and Jolene, There must be more Greta's out there then I thought, because neither of the one's you're thinking of are me. Happy New Year to you all anyhow!

We need some serious snow here in Southwestern VA. I typed Heikki Luntta and got this website. My Yoop Scoop sits idle, where in the past it has been the envy of my neighbors when we do manage to get a few inches of the scarce white stuff.,It is hard to take the UP out of the girl. :)
