The results of the cardboard boat race came in a little late yesterday to make it on the Pasty Cam, but we just wanted to publish the results.

First place winner was the Sea Ghost, manned by 10 year old, Jay Sikarskie of Houghton and Bill Marlor. Second place went to the Houghton City Council. Third place, the Arizona, built by the Hancock High School ROTC; gave Houghton a run for the money. The crowd roared when the ship tipped over just at the finish. There were 21 cardboard vessels in all. One of the funniest was the Clampett-Mobile that looked like a monster truck. It sank very early on in the race.
