STUNNING PICTURE .WE DON'T GET SNOW LIKE THAT OVER HERE IN CORNWALL, JUST WIND AND RAIN AND THE OCCASIONAL FLOOD.

I hope that Al and Ellie can log on and see this winter scene of "their" site.

By Mary, MI on Saturday, January 20, 2001 - 09:12 am:

It's not just Al and Ellie's site, my husband asked me to marry him, twenty-six years ago, at that spot. It has quite a view and at night looking out over Houghton with all the lights, it is quite a site. It still makes me smile and remember every time I drive by!

Every time I'm in Houghton with friends I always stop at this spot for a great lookout. I remember when there were hardly any trees in front. Now it's getting more difficult to see the bridge with the trees growing taller. Last year I had to climb up one of the poles for a good shot!

Love your sight keep up the good work, I grew up in the good old U.P. miss it lots and still make it up a few times a year. Hope to be up there again soon. Look at the new scenes everyday.

When I lived in Michigan I would love to come to the U.P. My kids were small and gas was cheap. Almost bought property and wish I did. Can not wait to get up there again someday. The upper peninsula is unique and will forever be.

We love your sight. My husband and I are both
from Hancock and I grew up on Quincy Hill. When I
was a kid I used to sell copper at the Lookout and
had some late dates as a teenager. It was a
wonderful surprise to see it on your sight.

I used to look at this site once or twice a day to check for a new picture... now four or five times daily to see who is visiting and what stories they are telling: the plane crash at Houghton airfield, the Poor Farm, roof sledding (just a few in recent memory). Keep up the good work.

I have a picture taken from this spot on my wall in my office. It reminds me of my vacations in the UP! Keep up the great pictures!

This is less than 1/8 a mile down the road from where I live. My fiance and I stop here on walks down the hill during the summer -- great view of Houghton. The only view which beats this (IMHO) is the view from my backyard, (less of a view of town, and BEAUTIFUL sunrises this time of year.) Can you guess where I live?

How about Kowsit Lats, Jason?

By Nancy, WI on Tuesday, January 23, 2001 - 11:17 pm:

Beautiful shot of a spot I visit every time I am there. The dimmer white spot on the right is the sand hill slide we played on for many an hour when our family moved to the "Smelts Location" in "48. No counting allowed!!!!
