What a busy week it has been for the old Pasty Central server. I notice on the Guest Gallery this morning 547 photos have been published since we introduced the feature a week ago. This peaceful scene is just one of them, from an album by Pasty.NET member Mike Radigan.

Speaking of logs, the results are in for the first half of 2003 - just over 30 million 'hits' for pasty.com, or about 5 million per month. In all fairness, that includes not just the Pasty Cam, but many websites at this address, such as Copper Country Reflections, a wonderful historical collection maintained here by Chuck Voelker. For some reason, today's picture selection reminded me of Chuck's site.

Had a great time last night at the Copper Harbor fireworks, and now we're headed off to the Popeye Run up in Eagle Harbor. Summer must be here for sure.

Has the bridge cam every caught the Isle Royale ship (SS Ranger?) going under the bridge? That would be a great photo.

A couple of days ago I noticed the bridge was open, but didn't see any vessels.

Toivo,
Good to hear from you. What's up? What's happening?
Kinda jonesing without a daily Toivo fix. Have you cured your wanderlust for awhile?

Hi,

Just wanted to pass on a coupl'a links for all the UP natives to enjoy and ponder.

This link will take you to overhead images of copper harbor and then way out to see the K-Pen in 8 click grids from above...not sure why the folks taking these didn't include more of the "big lake" but it appears as though they were more interested in the shoreline...regardless some neat pics...and a cool site for all to navigate around the UP from above and then zoom in close.

PS: I think I saw the sun "glint" from Dan Urbanski's Camera in the shot near the lake of the clouds...how about it Dan?

Hey all...

if you remember my grandfather and his YOOPER ingenuity with the snowplow mounted on his JEEP and his Lincoln Town Car.... how about the "boat slip" he dug for himself on the north shore of Lake Gogebic back in the 1960's.

Try to catch the MV Ranger III going under the lift bridge on Tuesdays or Fridays shortly after 9:00 am. That is her schedule for the summer going to Isle Royale. I'd rather have a pic of her bow going under the bridge, but if you want her stern, then try for Wednesdays or Saturdays around 3:00 pm, maybe a little before or maybe a little after, depending upon how rough the crossing was that day. Good Luck!!

Judging from the line up of cars, looks like the bridge was just going up on the cam shot so I guess whatever boat was coming hadn't gotten there yet.

The Ranger used to run Tues, Thur, and Sat. I guess they changed like the rest of the world!

Dave Janke,

I thought it was Tuesday's and Thursday's and Saturday's too.

Maybe some yoopers wanted to sleep in on Saturday.

The up is kind of quiet on saturday, but come to think of it so is Colo. Hot again today-105! wished I was in the UP now!
