Keith Baker, Great Lakes Sailor aboard the Cason J. Callaway was guiding the freighter through the Soo Locks recently, at night. The lights around the locks at dusk and in the dark sure make a beautiful scene.

Keith's first photo is the Soo skyline, showing the Tower of History lit up and the Coast Guard Base. Then the second shot is the Callaway approaching the outer end of the east middle pier with the lights reflecting in the water, doubling the evening effect.

The last three photos were while the Callaway was waiting for their turn to go through the locks, with the bottom shot getting underway on their turn through. If you're already a boat nerd, I'm sure you're loving these photos and if you aren't one yet, I'm betting the beauty of the lights at night is going to make you fall in love with these fascinating Great Lakes Boats.

Cool pics, makes me think a night trip to the Soo might be on our
list for this Septembers trip.
