Over on the eastern end of the U.P., Brenda Leigh was busy snowshoeing in for a winter look at the Point Iroquois Lighthouse. Located in Brimley, this beacon sits high above Lake Superior where for many years it guided boats into the narrow channel at the beginning of the St. Mary's River. From the top of the 65 foot tower, you can see Canada and all the surrounding beauty of the U.P., too.

Brenda sure snapped some good photos around the grounds, including the neat shadow shot of her fancy footwork on the snowshoes. Her last photo is a poem she found on the outside information board. It doesn't say who the author is, but it is supposed to be the Big Lake, Gitche Gumee talking about her mighty waters. It describes her pretty well.

Thanks for taking us along on your snowshoeing adventure, Brenda!

The poem does describe Mother Superior very well. Thank you,
Brenda. You certainly know how to make the most of winter
activities and take us right along with you on the trail.

The Point Iroquois Lighthouse is a amazing lighthouse to go through.

When I saw these were from Brimley, I knew it had to be Brenda. That snowshoe is almost as tall as you.;>
I really like the third shot. Thanks, for another winter trek, Brenda.

I love the second picture, how the icicles hanging from the tree frames, if you will, the lighthouse.
