We give a warm welcome to a newcomer here on the Pasty Cam today, Kelly Sullivan. Her photos give us all hope that Spring really is on its way here UP North, despite that fact that it still looks like winter all around us. And yes, I know that technically, tomorrow is the first day of Spring, but obviously whoever decided that Spring begins in March, has never been here in the Copper Country at this time of year.

Now back to Kelly's photos. She was out for a walk in the woods and spotted this little critter trying to hide from her, probably afraid of what might happen if he was seen. But Kelly assured the raccoon that she was just taking his picture and then both of them would be on their way again. No problem, just a quick game of peek-a-boo!

Nice pix, I like the camouflage fur on the bandit.

Those little critters are so cute, it's a shame that they can be dangerous. I held a tame one when I was a youngster and it was so lovable.:>

Raccoons make cute pictures. Skunks are starting to move and stink about as well.

I received this message and photo this morning, from Bill Haller and thought you'd all enjoy seeing it, too!

Sorry it’s a poor picture, why I hadn’t sent it - but it is hope winter’s ending nevertheless,

Monday, this coyote-sized fox came up to the house. The largest red fox that I’ve ever seen – obviously he/she over-wintered quite well.
Skunk’s have been “noted” along Route 41 thru Chassell, and we too have had raccoons gleaning under the bird feeders for over two weeks now.
Guess the bears are next, we’ll know for sure when the feeders are smashed!

Cheers,
Bill

Amazing fox picture Bill!

The Fox probably has a heavier than normal winter coat because of the brutal winter that we've had; that will make the animal appear much larger than it really is.

Peek a BOO! What an adorable little critter! I
always enjoy the animal pics,Mary :)

I would like the raccoons much better if they stayed in the forest instead of foraging in my garbage cans. They are just the opposite of Houdini in that he could get out of anything and they can get into anything.

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 - 07:26 pm:

Duane, that's 'cause they can do so much with those little 'fingers'.
When we've had hot/dry summers in the past, I'd put out a bowl of water on the backporch for the birds and the next morning it would be 'muddy', so I just happened to look out one night and there was 'bandit' washing dry cat food before he/she ate it.;>
