Good Morning. It is supposed to be another "beautiful day in the neighborhood", to borrow an expression from Mr. Rogers. This has been an awesome autumn, weather-wise, here in mid-Michigan. Happy Thursday, everyone!

Awesome indeed...just like todays pix. Hope the weather lasts a bit longer.

Good morning! What a great slideshow today! It's beautiful here too, though the sky is pink this morning. So, I'm not sure I'd want to be out on the lake.

Leaving in about an hour for the UP. Can't wait to see the color!

Good morning! Another beautiful day here in West Michigan.

Have a safe and enjoyable trip, Deb. Share some photos with us!

I'm envious, Deb...enjoy! Think of me preparing 1040s for the procrastinators (like me) :-(

Safe trip, Deb!:)
This is the week we would've been heading out on our annual October Michigan vacation.

Back at home after over 13 hour drive from Copper Harbor to Mt. Carroll Illinois!! Whooee did I sleep like a baby. Deb and Ron will enjoy the fabulous colors as they barely starting to fall. Depends where they are, closer to the lake are starting to give in. The trip to the C.H. lighthouse was so interesting thanks to Tim's knowledge and talent to share with us. Spent some time exploring Lake Linden where mom graduated in 1929! Sorry to say her hometown of Hubbell is a sad reminant of what I remember of the '40's and '50's. Though there are some good looking re-claiming of many homes. My big exploration was of Jacobsville and Bootjack. It's truly thought provocating when we try to imagine the life in that area back when there were barely any roads or communications ! Glad to be home thinking back to my trip.

Kay,

Mt Carroll? I live in Moline. My wife's family are all from Morrison. Another small world.

WOW, Kay! You made that trip in one day?? That's a
long ride. Glad you made it home safely. Too bad
we couldn't have been UP here at the same time.

There sure are a lot of oranges UP here. We don't
see much of that where we live in Minnesota. A lot
of it is gone, but there's still much beauty to
behold.
