Joe Kirkish reports that he's had some mysterious paw prints showing up on his porch and in his yard lately. They began appearing before our last storm and Joe would find them from his back door, right up onto and across his porch, looking for what, he asks? My guess is looking for a treat or a snack...

Then one day, the single tracks were joined by another set, so his mystery guest has a friend now and it looks like they had plenty of fun, romping around in the 8 foot snow drift in Joe's yard. Afterwards, they made their way down the path and out to the road and that's the last Joe has seen those mysterious paw prints.

They probably had a bit of the cabin fever we all get, after months of snow and storms. Hopefully, those two made it back to where they belong and have stayed put since.

They're big enough, must be dogs or maybe a wolf?? Be very careful, lol!!

Maybe the tracks are from that elusive beast called "Littlefoot."

I'll go with a cat or something small, since it looks like it slipped through the railings on the porch in the 2nd photo. Plus, it didn't lay a hand on the snow shovel...typical cat :-)

Pretty active, whatever it was! I could use an 'outdoor' cat around here...being waked up every morning lately by a dufus woodpecker hammering away at my second-floor vinyl-covered outside wall.:<

Shirley,

Get an inflatable or rubber snake and secure it to a
shrub or even place it on the ground. We can get
them at our local pet and garden store. Most birds
are deathly afraid of snakes.

It's the Easter bunny scoping things out!

Thanks D.A., that sounds like a workable idea. Have some shrubbery beneath his attack area.

That's a lot of snow still on the ground!
