Today's 'sunset in Hancock' photo was sent in to us by a long time Pasty.NET member who connects both in the Copper Country and Ann Arbor, David Owens. He said they were at the Keweenaw Food Co-op in Hancock, when people came running in saying everyone had to come outside and see the sunset. They did and today's picture is the result. David declared it "spectacular" and I have to agree. He said he wished he was at the shore for the shot, but felt it was quite effective showing the city like it does. He likened it to that of a refinery explosion at the end of the street. David's right about that, too, it's definitely a blast of color!

I thought it was the last day of the month.

It is nice to see a sunset photo other than just at the end of the month. I have experienced some vivid red sunrises recently, one last Saturday in Jackson and one this week. In both cases they did confirm the old weather rhyme "Red sky at morning, traveller take warning", since rain followed. Not all bad, since the Saturday morning rain was also accompanied by a rainbow.

Thomas, are you related to Pres. Calvin Coolidge? I understand he was a man of few words. Just kidding, but every time I read your posts I think of what Coolidge said to a woman who sat beside him at a dinner party one time....she told him that she bet she could make him say more than two words.....his response was "You lose".;)
