Good Morning! I am surprised that NOAA's current temperature for Houghton is 36, but ours here in mid-Michigan is just 30. I hear that winter comes back on Thursday, here in mid-Michigan. It was a wonderful respite.

If you miss your snow, just fly up to Alaska. One town already has 18 feet of snow, and they had to call in the National Guard, to help dig them out, because of avalanches, roof and building collapses, and the like.

I forgot to add that my youngest son wants winter back in Houghton so they can start playing broomball, as scheduled, tomorrow night. He went skiing with friends on Ripley yesterday afternoon, and enjoyed that. Today is Da Tech's first day of classes for the new term.

Aw! come on folks. Let Charlie do his job with the Early Bird.I don't understand the fuss any way you look at it. Me? I'm not competitive about life in general let alone something like this. Just wear a smile and live a smile. Peace...(Us Capricorns are suppose to be peacemakers)

Thanks for enlightening us, Mary. I'm ashamed to say I don't remember Charlie's post in Oct. 2009. But Charlie said that, so to my way of thinking, that should settle the whole matter once and for all.:) (see, that's the advantage/disadvantage of being old, you forget things) Hope everyone has a very good day!

Very early one morning two birds are sitting at the side of a large puddle of oil. They see a worm on the other side. So...the one flies over and the other one swims through -- which one gets to the worm first? The one who swam of course, because "Da oily boid gets da woim." :)

I think I'd rather have bacon, eggs, hash browns, whole wheat toast and coffee. Don't have to worry about feathers stuck in my teeth.

We need snow bad here in Ontonagon. Looks like it might be coming this week.
