PEWABIC ALL SCHOOL REUNION

Did you attend the old Pewabic School? If so, on Saturday, August 6, 2005, at the Quincy FireHall, there will be an informal reunion of ALL who attended the school. Right now the goal is to create a guest list of people we can contact about the event. Your part in this is to send along an e-mail to:
hmchamber@webtv.net (Helen Aittama Chamberlain), with names and addresses, if you have any, of others you remember who attended the school when you did.

THANKS, and really looking forward to seeing you at the Pewabic School reunion.

hey sur5er and John, you guys were too funny in yesterday's what's UP!

Danbury: everything's just trucking along. Is your email working yet?

By Carter&Nancy Grabarczyk, Michigan on Saturday, March 12, 2005 - 10:40 am:

My familiy and I were greatly saddened to hear of the passing of Jim Rooks. The Keweenaw has lost a wonderful treasure...

By sur5er on Saturday, March 12, 2005 - 11:09 am:

Hi Maija...as you can see, Danbury, John and I are beginning to suffer from cabin fever. So the question remains...who is your secret admirer...and will he at least give you his email? ...like sand through an hour glass... :)

By sur5er on Saturday, March 12, 2005 - 11:21 am:

To Maija's secret admirer: Ok, out with it...who are you? As you can see, I have no life. My life consists of Pasty Cam...scouring the UP reality websites for a house so hubby and I can move up to da UP...and putting a For Sale Sign on the front lawn of our house each time my hubby goes on the road.Which reminds me, hubby is due home in a few, so I have to go and take that sign down. :)

By danbury on Saturday, March 12, 2005 - 02:11 pm:

Oops - sorry, maija, but yes, it is. Since that re-installation of the whole system - grmbl, grmbl.
Thought I'd mentioned it here, but must admit I should've let you know, anyway.
Trucking along, huh? Does that indicate you're enjoying your new little trucklet, perhaps on another trip UP? :)
sur5er: Wish I was, 'cause it'd mean I had a cabin ;). As it is, 'tis more like, er, den fever. Like, student's den?

Danbury,

ROFL.

By sur5er on Saturday, March 12, 2005 - 03:38 pm:

Hubby just got home from the road.

Hubby: "Did you take your 'I'm a survivor walk' at the lake yesterday?"

Me: "Uh huh."

Hubby: "Did you take Bailey (companion dog) with you?"

Me: "Nope."

Hubby: "Why not? That's the whole purpose of that ball of fur that is shedding everywhere. Blah...blah...blah...blah...blah...that wasn't wise...blah...blah...blah..."

Me: "Oh wait...it gets good...real good. I walk through the parking lot...and there's not a car in the lot. I'm thinking to myself 'all right...I have all of Lake Michigan to myself...peace and quiet...and serenity...this will work."

Hubby: "Could you imagine what can happen out there, by yourself...blah... blah... blah.... blah..."

Me: "Hang on...I told you it's gets better. So, I'm walking towards the beach, and the first DNR officer pulls up, gets out of his truck...and starts walking towards the beach. Then the second DNR officer pulled up, got out of his car, and stood at the top of the dune, watching over the other DNR officer and me."

Hubby: (ROFL)"...there, now didn't you feel safe?"

Me: "Well it sorta ruined the mood for me...especially the one DNR officer wearing his bullet proof vest on the outside of his jacket."

Hubby: (ROFL)

Hubby: "Oh did anyone call for me this week?"

Me: "Yep...your bud Detective Frank. I told him I would have you call him when you got in on Saturday, and that I was headed out the door to take my annual 'I'm a pain in the butt survivor walk'."

Hubby: ROFL

Danbury: 'trucklet', how cool. That's what it is, and yes, it's great.

We in Wis. have had a tragedy occur today. A church group was meeting and a gunman shot and killed at least five people, injuring more. Please pray for the victims and their families. To verify, please go to jsonline.com, the website of The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

By Beverly, San Jose on Saturday, March 12, 2005 - 05:34 pm:

danbury: den fever/student's den. Would that mean that you are howling with the wolves?

By danbury on Saturday, March 12, 2005 - 06:59 pm:

Definitely. A-hoooo!

By pasty cam reader on Saturday, March 12, 2005 - 08:13 pm:

What is this? Peyton Place?

By alostyooper, Texas on Saturday, March 12, 2005 - 09:53 pm:

Left the U.P. 19 Years ago for Texas & dreamed from day one of returning. Well my dream may come true shortly. Just sent my resume off today for a job in the Marquette area. I sent them an E-mail last Sunday and by 8:00am Monday recieved a phone call. SOUNDS PROMISING! May be Home before all the snow is gone. Can hardly wait! Went and had new tires put on the truck today. Like the song says "I'm getting closer to my Home"

By sur5er on Sunday, March 13, 2005 - 02:11 am:

Aloystyooper,

Keeping my fingers crossed for you. I love it when people achieve their dreams. Congrats :)...and of course: Yaaaaaaaaahooooooo!

By sur5er on Sunday, March 13, 2005 - 02:14 am:

Maija,

If you water a trucklet, does it grow up and become a full sized truck? :)

By danbury, feeling lightheaded on Sunday, March 13, 2005 - 02:58 am:

Peyton Place? Nah, whatever that may be.
It's more like Spring fever - sun's out, roads are clear, motorcycle season has begun.
Just chill a little - we will soon enough, too! :)

By Beverly, San Jose on Sunday, March 13, 2005 - 05:36 am:

danbury? Peyton Place, from what I understand, was a nasty book of which a nasty movie was made. I don't see anything resembling Peyton Place on PastyCam. :)

By danbury on Sunday, March 13, 2005 - 06:34 am:

Thnx, Beverly. :)
