Good Morning all, I have only posted a couple times here, but view almost every day. Hi to you yoopers braving the snow and cold. The picture todays sends a chill down my spine just looking at it. Last time I took a dip in the Big Lake was last June and it numbed me pretty fast even then. Have a great day everyone.

We would like to welcome one of our newest sponsors, A House In The Woods. I noticed this morning it is still available for winter carnival, February 9 - 13. If you have a group (sleeps up to 7), it appears to be an economical alternative. To reserve this House in the Woods, call Kathy Wollan at 906-482-9743 or 906-337-2819.

Also, for everyone living here in the Copper Country, the Calumet VFW post will be having a big PASTY SALE this Saturday, January 15, featuring PASTY CENTRAL pasties. Stop by the post on US-41 on the north end of town and stock your freezer for $3.00 each, or take a couple home, pop them in the oven, and have a great dinner. Proceeds of the Pasty Sale will benefit Post 3900, as well as Still Waters, and helps advance Pasty.NET's wireless Internet project in the Keweenaw. The Post has provided a spot on their tower (formerly used by the DNR) as a relay up the peninsula.

Remember: plan on pasties this Saturday, the start of a new tradition in the Copper Country for the 3rd Saturday of each month.

Good Morning from Marine City Mi, where the weather is almost as crazy as in the U.P. It's supposed to reach the 50 degree mark the next couple of days, and then single digits over the weekend. Don't know if I should get my shorts out or the longjohns.

Monitored boat traffic between the SAM LAUD and CHARLES BEEGLEY anchored in Bete Grise Bay. They concluded that this will be the last run of the year, as the expect the Soo to lock up this weekend with the sub-zero temps.

Also reported gusts to 55 mph last night, before heading in here.

just saw a front-end loader dumping snow into a truck on Tech's Walker web cam. Are they hauling it to a statue building site, or just going to dump it?

Can't wait for the statue cams to be up and running!

Hey all you yoopers, I live in Clarkston, southeast Michigan. My husband and I were invited to the Detroit's International Autoshow. We are so excited to go because we are big fans of the newest cars coming out. My husband is the vice president of Daimler Chryslers financial district and we are just so excited for the charity preview. Guess who's gonna be there? ORANGE COUNTY CHOPPERS! they are gonna unveil their new Lincoln bike. Well have fun in the snow while this week we have spring temps! Ta-tah for now!
