During the winter months here in the U.P., many things are buried, hidden or just frozen, but Aladino Mandoli and Lyn Rayrat discovered a couple of streams that are still flowing, one with quite a luminescent glow to it! The other day someone posted this description and I think it bears repeating... thanks to Mk Schneider (Upboundeh) for such insightful words... "The UP has a magical way of shading the land and lighting up the sky with all the colors of the rainbow through-out the seasons."

Good morning from Mishawaka IN. Beautiful pictures this morning. Both of them would look pretty hanging on one of my walls. It sure doesn't look like that here. Its been in the 30's and higher here so most of the snow has melted and so its been wet and foggy. Yuck! Well, I work in retail so I go back to work today while the rest of my family gets to stay home. Have a good day everyone.

Beautiful pics Aladino and Lyn. Both pics make me homesick...and I think I can hear the snow crunching as I walk, in the first pic ;)

NKR, the snow has melted here also...and it sure is dismal. Been doing my "let it snow, let it snow" dance...but still no snow. Have to admit, that with the snow staying on the ground for the last month, that it was starting to remind me of home, around here.

Here in Mid-Michigan the snow is melting and 36 degrees. Anyone know the snow depths in the Manistique area in the UP? Have a great day out there.

Love the pictures. The second one is unique.

What beautiful pictures. I remember those winter scenes vividly from growing up in the UP and going hunting during the winter. You would come upon many scenes like these. It seems you don't realize how beautiful they are until later in life. I sure miss da UP.....and the beautiful scenery around Lake Linden.

In yesterday's picture, someone asked what all the white was on the ladies heads? We all wore white or black head scares in the 50's. Didn't have the nice hats they have "now a days".

I like the picture with the sunshine on the water. Today is that kind of day. Blue ski with some sun. Must be 35 or so and the streets are all bare again. Nice for the travelers but I'm sure the skiers and snowmobilers would rather see snow. Just wait a few days.

Good evening from Mishawaka, IN. As NKR said ealier it is yucky here today. I am one of the lucky ones who still have another week away from work. Today's pictures are both great. Thanks Aladino and Lyn for sharing with all of us.
