I received an e-mail this morning from "visitors*pasty.com" that contains an attachment. The e-mail text reads "here is the file." Is that one of those spam/virus things? I don't think I have sent an e-mail to that address requesting a file. Just wondering.......

I would be concerned that the attachment is a virus. Don't open it, would be the best advice I can give you. During the past week, I have received emails with "Your new password" in the subject line, that had an attachment with it...which I promptly deleted.
I do know that there is currently a virus that is going around, that is being attached to fictious email greetings. The unsuspecting person believes that someone has sent them a greeting..and when
they open the attachment, the virus destroys all their files.
I receive emails from Mary and others who have Pastycam, as their IP...and there is not a * in the address. A lot of viruses that are sent in emails appear at first glance to be from a known website...but upon closer examination, there is a character added or left out, that is often not noticed.

rozgr, I agree with Sur5er: please be careful what you open. Today I spent a WHOLE day getting my computer back after 2 worms were eventually found. ( and 28 unwanted files)
This is just the end of a string of days where I was going here and there, talking to him and her, trying this and that.

unfortunately, any message board is a virus magnet, as are jokes, etc. sent from person to person.

I really just have to wonder: what is with these people who start viruses!

We had 35° at 6;30 this am in Cornell. I guess it'll get some worse before it gets better. :o) No flakes though, yet.
