I loved the Christmas card, Holidays!

Great review pictures, my favorites are 2003 and 2004.

Thomas, your postings of late tell us you love Christmas lights......me too.:)

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Saturday, December 24, 2011 - 11:08 am:

Congratulations, Marianne! Looks like you had it all to yourself this morning.:)

By Thomas Baird (Thomas) on Saturday, December 24, 2011 - 11:23 am:

Yes, Shirley, I do. Mini lights, c7's + c9's especially when they're twinkle lights, because when you put your ear right up to them, they make different sounding soft ping sounds, like little Christmas bells, and I also like fiber optic Christmas Trees. Merry Christmas.

Hollidays, what a lovely card! Merry Christmas to all of you in
Pastyland.

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Saturday, December 24, 2011 - 01:13 pm:

Gee, Thomas, that's interesting. I would've never thought to do that. The last tree we (husband, Frank & I) bought is a fiber optic one...tabletop....just couldn't bring myself to put it up this year.
My hope for all you is a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and a WONDERFUL NEW YEAR. May God bless you, everyone!

Off subject but....Janie, how is Brimley doing? His surgery was yesterday, right? Hope and pray everything went fine.:)

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Saturday, December 24, 2011 - 02:57 pm:

Shirley, Brimley's diabetes had a slip in his glucose reading on Wednesday. Minor situation as it was, the surgeon felt for Brimley's best well being to reschedule his surgery Jan. 6th. Had he performed his surgery on friday, could have effected how well Brimley would have tolerated the anesthesia, etc. I appreciate his genuine care in Brim's well being, as we do, so we will wait. A bit more time to prepare for the post op care will be valuable for us too.

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Saturday, December 24, 2011 - 03:11 pm:

Thanks, Janie. Thank God for an alert and caring surgeon! When diabetes is present there is always much to be considered. Will keep Brimley in thought and prayer.

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Saturday, December 24, 2011 - 03:34 pm:

Thank You Shirley! I appreciate your sincere thoughts!

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Saturday, December 24, 2011 - 08:03 pm:

JT...make sure that Brimley see's a porterhouse steak and a bowl full of Scotch whiskey waiting for him at home, after the operation.

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Saturday, December 24, 2011 - 09:15 pm:

Thank you, Shirley. Janie, I'm glad the surgeon was on his toes; better safe than sorry! Merry Christmas to all Pasty people. And, from one famous line: "God Bless Us, Everyone!".

Shirley, I know this Christmas will be especially hard on you, since your loss of your husband is so recent. Honestly, it took my Mom about four years to get over my Dad's passing enough to really get out and enjoy life again, in spite of new grandchildren. She and my Dad were married over 53 year before my Dad died. In her case, I'm sure that the fact that they were married on Christmas Eve made it that much harder. When people pick special days like that to get married, they don't realize how that can affect you in times of loss. Also, my Dad died on Valentine's Day 1985, which made it even harder on both my Mom and me. Hugs to you, Shirley. God Bless You!

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Sunday, December 25, 2011 - 10:02 am:

Thank you so much, Marianne, for your kind thoughts....means a lot to me!
So very sad about your mom and dad's anniversary being Christmas Eve and your dad passing away on Valentine's Day, but when we're young and in love, thoughts about what may happen in the future never enter our minds, do they. Thankfully there are our memories that span our lives together! And we draw strength from God to make it through another day.
I hope you and your family have a blessed Day today. And, thank you for the "hugs"!

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Sunday, December 25, 2011 - 04:26 pm:

That is so true, Shirley. Thank heavens for good memories! :-)
