Good Morning, everyone! Yesterday was a lovely, but cold day in mid-Michigan. I got about half of my Christmas shopping done.
First Post

By Pat & Glenda (Gormfrog) on Sunday, December 11, 2011 - 10:05 am:

Heard someone say yesterday "Life is too short to play bad golf"...???
Life is too short to play any golf!

By Thomas Baird (Thomas) on Sunday, December 11, 2011 - 10:28 am:

All right, how come the first post is at 9:18, but it didn't show up on my computer until about now? Still a nice decade in review all the same.

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Sunday, December 11, 2011 - 11:05 am:

See...I told you, Thomas.
I agree about the review today, very nice.

By Grace M Wetton (Gmw) on Sunday, December 11, 2011 - 11:07 am:

Good morning everyone. Sunny and 30 degrees here in Houghton. Have a great day!

"A late "Good Morning"

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Sunday, December 11, 2011 - 11:36 am:

Really nice review today!! So many SUPERIOR pictures, meant to go both ways:)

I, too, had a hard time getting on here this morning. Don't know what the problem was, but glad it's fixed!

Have a great Sunday, everybody! Go Lions! They're playing the Vikings! Should make everybody out here made at me should the Lions win. I'm good with that!

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Sunday, December 11, 2011 - 01:04 pm:

Lazy afternoon watching Walton's Christmas shows....Bob is so totally pumped, he fell asleep.

By Daveofmohawk (Daveofmohawk) on Sunday, December 11, 2011 - 01:45 pm:

Beautiful day here in Mohawk, 45 degrees and sunny. Too bad I have to stay in and watch football all afternoon.

By Theresa Barnes (Flash) on Sunday, December 11, 2011 - 02:30 pm:

Deb, I just had to write to you. All my U.P.
friends are Packer Fans. I am a Lions fan and am
happy they are doing so good this year. But have to
admit I am a Broncos fan since living so many years
in Colorado. Go Tebow and Stafford. Theresa.

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Sunday, December 11, 2011 - 04:42 pm:

Marianne, the Xmas shoppers are much more behaved, are they not? I was buying a frying pan the other day and was Pam-sprayed by the niced little old lady that I have ever met in my life.

By Hollidays (Hollybranches) on Sunday, December 11, 2011 - 04:45 pm:

Almost all of the people UP here are Packer fans. It's because way back when that's all they could get on their radios and TVs, Packer games. Lions won but it was because the Vikes didn't do to good. Lions need more defense.

Green Bay is doing good kicking the Raiders' butts. :)

It's 49° here in Ontonagon right now. Feels like spring. A nice break from what is in store for us. Snow, snow, snow!

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Sunday, December 11, 2011 - 06:11 pm:

I would imagine most true green and gold yoopers already know this, hollidays.....

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Sunday, December 11, 2011 - 06:42 pm:

Alex, if you shopped on Black Friday, you were taking your life in your hands, sadly. It's ironic that you mentioned frying pans. We shopped at the Corningware Outlet in Birch Run, and we actually looked briefly at skillets. :-) The checkout lines were pretty long, but the store had plenty of stock, and the customers were patient, so there were no issues. The stores that had huge sales also had lots of friendly employees there to help customers. We were shopping in the middle of the afternoon, not the first thing in the morning, when people were perhaps running short on sleep?

Oh, good news for people who used the old Corningware, that could go on the stovetop, and were unhappy that you could not buy it for a few years, might be happy to know that you can get a number of pieces again in the stovetop line. My oldest son had that on his list. And my youngest son had Under Armour on his list for broomball and Winter Carnival.

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Sunday, December 11, 2011 - 06:50 pm:

Janie, I love the Waltons, but have to go with my all-time favorite of that 'family', the original movie, "The Homecoming". Taped that off TV long time ago.

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Sunday, December 11, 2011 - 07:36 pm:

That Under Armour clothing is some good stuff, Marianne. If your youngest is wanting a set, he won't be disappointed. Although for Winter Carnival, a good Carhart arctic lined jacket is hard to beat; I know from expereince. ;-)

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Sunday, December 11, 2011 - 08:06 pm:

Speaking of Carhart, many moons ago I bought a Carhart winter jean hoodie-jacket from Getz’s in Marquette. Still have it and it is my favorite. Under Armour is nice as well. I have set for those cold rides on the Wing.

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Sunday, December 11, 2011 - 08:11 pm:

Thank you, Capt Paul. Yes, my youngest requested the Under Armour. I'll tell him about the Carhart artic lined jacket. I know that my oldest used to speak highly of Carhart for the Winter Carnival. :-) I shiver just thinking about those kids' adding water to the snow, to pack it, etc! I know my youngest spent many long hours doing that last year, his first year. It's good to know it's wind resistant, Alex, thank you.

By jbuck (Jbuck) on Sunday, December 11, 2011 - 08:18 pm:

You got your wish Theresa!

Another great come back for Tebow and the Broncos!

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Monday, December 12, 2011 - 07:55 am:

Theresa, my son is a huge Tebow fan!! I've always loved John Elway! There are many QB's that I love to watch, but I've stuck with the Lions all these years, even though they've had some pretty bad teams. I'm sure we're both happy that the Bronco's beat the Bears yesterday.

Capt., there are just some people who seem to know everything:)
