Folks have been asking about the color change so far this year and it's hard to predict what will happen, especially since the amount of color can vary from different areas in the same county, but Joe Kirkish snapped some photos of some early colors he found and they're quite vibrant and bright. I love the waxy, colorful, close-up in the first shot, where you can even see the veins of the leaves. If you look beyond the beautiful colored leaves, you can see there's still plenty of green there, too. So we're definitely not at peak color season quite yet. I'll leave it up to the leaf experts to predict when the best time to head this way for peak viewing of the color display, will be. In the meantime, enjoy the color from Joe. :->

Beautiful fall colors, my favorite season!

Awesome photos!!! I do love fall. I just wish that winter didn't follow, lol. I think that 2 weeks of winter, from about mid to the end of December, would be just about right. That way there's a white Christmas, but we don't have to go through all those months of frigid temps. I just hope fall lasts long enough for us to enjoy this year.

I enjoy seeing Autumn leaves in their Autumn colors, especially maple leaves.

Some trees are showing color here in the Ohio Valley but I'm not sure if the reason is the season or stress. We've had much too much rain this spring/summer and then have gone into an very dry stretch. Also some trees in our immediate area have been found to be harboring the dreaded 'Asian Longhorned Beetle'....so far one of my huge maples is affected so it will have to go. :-( (thank goodness I don't have to pay for it's removal....it's a BIG tree) BTW, love the autumn photos!:)

As we approach my favorite time of year I'm always aware of the stages of color change. Drove from Lac Du Flambeau yesterday and could see the early signs of color. But actually as I drove down to NW Illinois could see more lightning of greens and starting yellows. Greens can be hard to paint sometimes but the stunning other colors are so eye pleasing! Have a good weekend all. Learned a lot at that art workshop.

Well, that certainly was a quiet day on the PastyCam; I guess everyone was out enjoying the day....

I'm hoping for a little bit of colour when I return next month, but I won't hold my breath!! J
