It looks like Taana Kalliainen has been busily decorating and wrapping presents for a good old fashioned Keweenaw Christmas. From brightly decorated ornaments, to glowing, white lights on her tree, "it's beginning to look at lot like Christmas." I wonder if there are any packages under that tree for her favorite equine? Maybe some leg warmers or a nice new saddle blanket. ;-> If you haven't already done so, you better get a move on and decorate your tree, too.

In reference to Day in History, Henry Ford did not help to form the Huron Mountain Club but rather was invited to join if he would refuse to allow the State to extend Highway M35 through his extensive property just south of Club property in Northern Marquette County. M35 now stops at US41 and the rest is now County 510.

You are correct Don, the Club was around well before Ford started buying up land in the county. Day in History states "Firestone collaborated with Ford in becoming part of the exclusive Huron Mountain Club". Several sources lead us to believe that Harvey and Henry actively discussed and pursued the strategy that led to their eventual acceptance as members.
