Seems like fall is in the air up there. At 4:30 this morning in SE TX, it was 81 with a heat index of 90...... at 4:30 in the morning!!!!

I'm tired of this heat/humidity. We were starting to cool off slightly until Hermine came through and dumped all the rain. It will take 2 weeks just to burn off all the humidity!! I'll be glad when I don't have to run the a/c in both directions to and from work.

Speaking of potatoes, does anyone remember the song "Digging Sweet Potatoes in Candy Land"? We used to sing it in grade school along with "Zum Gali Gali", an old Hebrew jingle, I believe.

Are ya feelin me yet?

Bear.org lost one of the radio collared bears, a yearling named Sarah. Please read link to newspaper and log in and vote. Educating hunters to leave these 14 bears alone, so the study can go on didn't work. http://www.duluthnewstribune.com/event/article/id/178372

Sorry Alex, ain't feelin' you yet. Listening to Pink Floyd, The Eagles, Led Zepplin and the Grateful Dead. No mention of potaters in dem dere songs.

As for your Hebrew song, is this it?

Zum, gali-gali-gali, Zum gali-gali,
Zum, gali-gali-gali, Zum gali-gali,

Pioneers all work as one
Work as one all pioneers
Pioneers all work as one
Work as one all pioneers

Zum, gali-gali-gali, Zum gali-gali,
Zum, gali-gali-gali, Zum gali-gali,

Pioneers all work as one
Work as one all pioneers
Peace shall be for all the world
All the world shall be for peace

Zum, gali-gali-gali, Zum gali-gali,
Zum, gali-gali-gali, Zum gali-gali,

From the dawn till setting sun
Every one finds work to be done.
From the dawn till night does come
Thera's a task for everyone

Zum gali gali, gali, Zum gali gali,
Zum gali gali, gali, Zum gali gali,

Pioneers work hard on the land,
Men and women work hand in hand
As they labor all day long,
They lift their voice in song

Let us work, my friends as one
Let us work 'til the task is done.

Still wonder to this day, how the pioneers tamed this wilderness. How spoiled we are compared to what they had to endure.

Yep Yooperguide, that’s the Zum Gali Gali I remember. However, that is definitely the long version.

By Carole (Carole) on Friday, September 10, 2010 - 06:26 pm:

Theresa, I log onto the Bear Den site everyday and cried when I found out that Sarah, one of the research bears, was shot. Its a long way off before the middle of next month when bear hunting season is over. Until then I worry about the rest of the collared/ribboned bears, especially Lily and Hope. And please everyone, take time to vote for this HOT issue.
