"Remembering the Titanic", from 2007 in today's Decade in Review prompted me to re-read the original entry (Click → Past-E-Mail: Cam Notes - 2007: April: Apr 15-07), where I see (from the St Ives Times in early May 1912):

Quote:

"Agnes [Davies] remained in Michigan for the rest of her life during which time she married a Mr Richard Edwards, they lived at 949 Railroad Avenue in Hancock."

Which inspires a question:
Where exactly was "Railroad Avenue in Hancock"?
I can find no sign of such a street today, and I sure don't remember such a street from my days in and around Houghton. Does anyone know where it is/was?

If my memory isn't totally gone, Railroad Ave ran from Gino"s corner up to Santori's curve.

richard w,
wasn't the road that went from gino's/iga market
(50's) to santori's corner called lincoln avenue?
yes, the railroad to calumet paralled it.
i lived on lower lincoln -- renamed ohio street
at some point in time. lower lincoln was just
south of the railroad track and lincoln ave.
lincoln ave is part of us41 through hancock.
