Which appears more in todays review, related to dogsledding or snowmobiling?

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Monday, February 22, 2010 - 08:00 am:

Good Morning! We have a snowy day here in mid-Michigan. Most of the schools around are open because the heavier snow did not start until after it was too late to call off school for the day. I pray that there are no accidents involving school buses, students, high school drivers, teachers, and staff! Be safe, you all! Maybe it's a good day to curl up with a good book and a cup of hot cocoa, or something? :-)

No snow falling at the moment here up North

If you count 2002, five relating to dogsleds.

By Alex "UP-Goldwinger" (Alex) on Monday, February 22, 2010 - 08:06 am:

2001 = 2 dogs
2002 = 1 dog/sled
2007 = 2 sleds
That is how I came up with five.

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Monday, February 22, 2010 - 08:11 am:

I wish I could curl up with a book, but I am a member of the five day work week.

My sister Carol in the Soo, reported it was spring like yesterday. I told her I will move there when it is actual Spring and not just 'like'. lol

By mickill mouse (Ram4) on Monday, February 22, 2010 - 09:24 am:

It got up to 34-35 degrees yesterday here in Lake Linden. We talked to some friends downstate and they got quite a bit of snow. Then again, 3 inches of snow brings everything to a standstill down there. LOL

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Monday, February 22, 2010 - 09:45 am:

It was the image that I was thinking of, curl up with a book, and a cup of hot cocoa. Unfortunately, I am up to my eyeballs in accounting work, so it was just wishful thinking. Oh well.

My oldest son lives and works in Dearborn. He said he had 5 inches of snow already by about 7:15 this morning, as he was clearing off his car, getting ready to go to work. That could be an interesting drive in to work, since many Detroiters aren't exactly known for their winter driving skills. Fortunately for him, he only has to drive about a half mile on public roads to get to work.

Be safe all of you, who are dealing with winter precip. (I need to get back to the grindstone.)

What about 2006 for dog sledding? Toting that sled up that hill would make me dogged tired!!!

By Cindy Pihlaja Russell (Gone2long) on Monday, February 22, 2010 - 10:31 am:

Here in the Lansing area most of the schools are closed and snow is still coming down. I've heard up to 7" by the time it's all done. I am at home today myself; it would be treacherous getting out there with the trolls who don't know how to drive. I might just be able to finish the book I'm working on. Be safe everyone! And Happy Birthday to George Washington.

By kay Moore (Mskatie) on Monday, February 22, 2010 - 11:22 am:

Janie and Marianne...your day is comimg. Reading and cocoa is the reward for all those weeks of work, believe me. Yesterday would have been my Bobby's 51st birthday! My how the time does fly! Our 2" of snow is done for this week. Just overcast rest of the week with snow showers. Hush...I think I hear spring's voice in the distance. Aaaaahhhhh.

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Monday, February 22, 2010 - 01:16 pm:

Kay...I guess you can say I'm in training right now for more serious cocoa days ahead. Every evening after supper, Bob makes me hot cocoa with cinnamon and little marshmellows added. lol! No matter how much snow we get, I have to truck through it with my job, unless the dealership, law offices, the court house, banks and credit unions, interstates, highways, and the post offices are all closed. I do have a company car, so if I get hit, at least it's not my personnal car wrecked.

By Thomas Baird (Thomas) on Monday, February 22, 2010 - 02:41 pm:

Wonderful pictures. Those 2 ladies on the snowmobiles aren't bad looking, either (lol). Don't forget to say Happy Birthday to George (George who? George Washington).

By Russell E. Emmons (Russemmons) on Monday, February 22, 2010 - 04:43 pm:

Birthday wishes to Dave Hiltunen today! Don't know if he gets on here much anymore?

8-10 inches of new snow on the old 8" that WAS melting yesterday! Still coming down here in St. Clair county! (humbug!)

By Uncle Chuck at Little Betsy (Unclechuck) on Monday, February 22, 2010 - 06:51 pm:

Happy Birthday David, you ol Finnlander! Hope you had a great day!
