As promised yesterday, we're here today with some pictures of the smiling faces that Fun Day at the Lake Linden-Hubbell School Forest produces. This is an annual event for the school and just so happens the weather was absolutely perfect this year....sunshine and no wind. The day started for my grandsons and me, with a school bus ride (a first for the 3 yr. old) out to the Forest property, with the bus running every half hour to pick people up and drop others off. Once we arrived, the flurry of activity began, there was cross country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobile rides, hay rides pulled behind the school tractor, a bonfire to roast marshmallows over and even an igloo the older kids had built for a class project. Zavier's favorite was the snowmobile ride, he was proud to report that he went on the trails 9 times in that trailer. Alex's favorite was the hayride, because he LOVES tractors, so he was in his glory riding right behind that big blue New Holland. My favorite was the smiles that I saw wherever I looked, like on the faces of the boys and my friend Nora in the second to last shot. You can't quite see the smile on Gracie's cute little face, but she shared it with us a number of times throughout the day. She was such a sport, wearing her little sunglasses and just bopping along in Mommy's front pack like it was nothing out of the ordinary.

There was a delicious lunch of hot dogs, chips, and cookies to partake of, too. I think the best part of the whole day, was that the majority of the folks out there working to make this happen for the kids (and us big kids, too), had all volunteered their time. What a great example of pulling together to provide events for families to enjoy.... and ENJOY we sure did. Thanks to all that were involved in making this Fun Day happen.

I was looking at pictures of that baby just yesterday. Hi Gracie !!!

Also how about the CC Humane Society. I've been voting regularly. When I first started checking CC Humane Society was about 40-45 in the overall standings and as of this morning is ranked 16th.

When I looked at the pictures, I thought the 6th shot looked like Nora and Gracie. I read John Dee's journal on a regular basis.

I just noticed the child in the sixth photo with the cool shades. Reminded me of the song:

I'm doing all right, getting good grades.
The future's so bright, I gotta wear shades.

What a life Gracie is going to have with two (2) fantastic parents, a great place to grow up AND two(2) great buddies she will have with her doggies. Life can not be any better for a child.
