Deb Simons and Mr. Deb were recently here in the Keweenaw for a visit and snapped a few photos of the color around. The first shot was taken from the Perkins parking lot in Houghton, looking over to the Hancock hills. Even though this photo was taken just a few days ago, I'm speculating that the colors are most likely further along now, with many of those green trees having some color, too. Same with the unique shot of the Bridge and the colors, Deb snapped. Don't you just love those oranges and reds? Too bad the color season can't last for months and months. :->

It's always fun to see your own pictures here on pasty. Thanks, Mary.

That photo of the bridge we took to Wal-Mart and had it made into an 8 x 10 and is now proudly hanging on our wall! That's how much I loved it! Now I can see the bridge every morning when I wake up and come and sit at my computer. We did the same with one we took of the Mackinac Bridge. They're both proudly displayed above our computer desk!!

Great job Deb, you maybe should think about changing jobs. You did a great job here.

Hello all, I just registered after 10 years of silent admiration of this site.
Absolutely stunning, is all I can say about these photos!
I hope the leaves can hold on for another week as my wife and I will be in the Keweenaw this coming Thursday.
We can't wait!!!

Welcome Scott and Mrs Scott! Glad to have you.

Thanks, Zube and Scott. And welcome, Scott and Mrs. Scott. I think you'll be okay with the color unless they get a heck of a wind storm. They hadn't quite peaked last weekend, but it was awfully close. So good luck!

Wow! My husband and various family members and friends
enjoyed their tour of the Keweenaw last weekend immensely, and I
can sure see why. Nice work, Deb.

Beautiful photos today!!!So nice that we get all the beautiful color before everything turns white!

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Saturday, October 17, 2009 - 06:15 pm:

Beautiful photos, as always.

The colours are also out here in Portland, Oregon. That's right, I said Portland!! The Dr. and I are here for the GSA conference this year. After the meeting, we're going to take a few days and wander around the Cascades and the volcanoes of Washington......

You guys are so lucky to get to travel around like that. But I bet you won't be given any homemade jelly, lol!!!

Thanks, Kosk, Jaby and the good Capt.

By Dr. Nat (Drnat) on Saturday, October 17, 2009 - 09:30 pm:

It is nice to travel, but there is always a special place in our hearts for the Keweenaw, our great pasty friends, and their homemade jam.
