E. Neil Harri continues to release new aerial tour DVD's periodically, with the latest one being Isle Royale Summer. Neil takes you from one end of the Island, starting here today with the Rock of Ages Light on the western end of the Island, to the eastern end looking down at Blake Point and many points in-between, including the third shot here, Rock Harbor. This summertime aerial tour features 187 photos, including all 4 lighthouses on and around the Island, hiking trails, shipwrecks and most harbors. The remaining 184 photos on the DVD were taken on the same day as the three featured today, so you'll be getting a good look at the calm waters and reefs that surround the Island, too.

Make sure you add this remarkable journey above Isle Royale National Park, to your DVD collection. You can do so by clicking on this link: Aerial Tours on DVD, where you'll find a listing of ALL Neil's available tours. Make sure and check them all out and pick up the ones you're missing. Then when you're lonesome for the Keweenaw, just pop one in and let Neil take you there in a matter of minutes.

WOW....can you figure out a contest or something, with the winner going up with Neil?

What PHENOMENAL pictures...just breathtaking!

By Jeff Kalember (Jeffkal) on Monday, July 27, 2009 - 08:10 am:

i'd hoped to make it up the Isle this summer, but no luck, maybe next. I bet the moose are enjoying the nice cool summer and maybe its cut down on the tick population some.

There is nothing like starting my day with a beautiful picture of a lighthouse. This one is spectacular! Thanks for sharing, Neil.

I've got the Autumn Aerial Tour of the Keweenaw Peninsula and it's a jewel. I'll have to admit though, this one appears to be every bit as good.

Neil, you never fail to impress. I especially love the end-on wide angle view of Blake Point -- makes me feel like I'm flying right in!

Sorry, but I meant to write that I have Neil's DVD. It's early here in Colorado where we are attending a Kangas family reunion. Love the mountains but would miss Lake Superior.

These are beautiful pictures, Neil & Mary. Did you all see the article in the Free Press? It talked about Commodore, & singing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" to moose on the trail, etc. Very cool!

By Thomas Baird (Thomas) on Monday, July 27, 2009 - 02:46 pm:

Like that lighthouse pic.

By E. Neil Harri (Ilmayksi) on Monday, July 27, 2009 - 03:50 pm:

Thanks for all the kind comments. It sure was a beautiful day when I took these photos. Mid June, sunny and calm. It doesn't happen often on Isle Royale.
The 2009 EAA Airventure show is going on all week thru next Sunday in Oshgosh, Wi.It is the greatest airshow on earth and worth the trip. There is plenty to do for all ages.I am going tomorrow.

Carl Kiilunen sent me this shot of the Rock of Ages Light with the Coast Guard boat tied up to it. I'm not sure of the year he took it, but perhaps he'll chime in and add it for us.

Rock of Ages
Thanks, Carl!
