Chris Gariepy and family recently took a drive up to Eagle River and the shores of Lake Superior. Of course when you have little guys like they do, you can't just drive, you have to get out and let them run off some energy and that's just what they're doing in these photos. First walking through Eagle River, which I'm guessing is a bit warmer than the chilly waters of the Big Lake, since neither of the boys are in the water in that second shot. Looks like there was somewhat of a wind that day, too, with the whitecaps rolling into shore. I was actually surprised to see the last photo from Chris, with the seagull posed on the rocks. I figured those little guys would have scared it up before Dad could snap the photo!

Looks like fun, but I know how those rocks hurt. I know we're going to be rock hunting this time around since we'll have the 10 year old granddaughter with us. Should be fun though. I'll wear my water shoes and hope that helps some. Pretty sure the water will be too cold to go into this year with the weather the way it's been. So we'll have to settle for picking rocks!

I was just up there about a week ago and took a stroll down that very same beach. What a great area. Now it's back to work, which is a good thing :)

Deb, those rocks don't hurt half as much as the mine rock that was on our driveway. Those rocks look nice and round but the mine rock on our drive was all pointy and sharp. When I was a kid I could walk on it with no problem, but now I can't even stand on it. Gettin' soft I guess (plus I weigh just a couple more pounds). :-D
