While Alexander Agassiz was famous for being the 2nd President of C&H until his death , his Father was a pretty famous guy as well. Louis Agassiz was known the world over for his advances in geology, paleontology, and earth's natural history.

re: Deer on shed roof. I've heard of "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" but never "Deer on a Cold Tin Roof."

Happy Friday! It seems like this has been a long week! Good joke, Gary in CO, LOL.

Congratulations to Dr Hunt, the veterinarian from Marquette, MI, on finishing the Iditarod, winning the Red Lantern award. This year, a large number of mushers/teams scratched, because of the unusually brutal weather conditions (very high winds, low temps, and heavy snow), etc, so that finishing is quite an accomplishment! And, congratulations to all of the mushers and dog teams!

We have geese on the roof where we live. It got so loud last year that we went outside to take a look and thought a fight was going to break out. There were about 10 geese on one roof of a house then about 10 geese on another roof just squawcking at each other.

Must be that time of year and love is in the air. ;O)

thank you, charlie, for providing the 'low bandwidth audio link' for 'this day in history'.
the higher bandwidth link would 'freeze' my
browser. don't know how long you have been
providing it -- i just discovered it yesterday.
thanks again.

Yooperology has pasties! I just addedd some info on my Yooperology Squidoo lens about the pasty. Since I rely on Pasty Central for both my pasties and a lot of my UP pictures, I definitely wanted to add a link to the order page.

And I feel an order coming on real soon....lol.

BTW, it is supposed to snow in Kansas tomorrow. I was really thinking at least We were done with that stuff.
