Iron Street was mentioned this week on the Pasty Cam. To what town was this referring?

By Ken, Kalamazoo, MI (Kenkazoo) on Saturday, December 27, 2008 - 07:06 am:

Good morning from Kalamazoo. 50 degrees and rain this morning, including thunderstorms.

By mickill mouse (Ram4) on Saturday, December 27, 2008 - 08:11 am:

We are going to have rain and thunderstorms today. it is suppose to 56 degrees, too. It is going to interesting to see where all the rain and melting snow is going to go. We have 3 parks by us that the Clinton River runs through and one time it flooded so bad you could not tell there was a park there at one of them.

The picture of Becky and her husbands' wedding party is beautiful.

By NKR (Nkr) on Saturday, December 27, 2008 - 09:07 am:

Good morning from Mishawaka IN. 54 this morning. We had freezing rain yesterday morning and with the few inches of snow, the freezing rain and now the rain its a big sloppy mess. Our temperature might get up to 60.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Saturday, December 27, 2008 - 09:46 am:

Good morning! There were sure some nice lake pictures this morning. Dan's was sure different.
I, too, liked the wedding party picture.

Don't know what I'm going to do today. Hopefully, nothing.

By Charlotte, Mishawaka, IN (Charlotte61) on Saturday, December 27, 2008 - 11:49 am:

Good morning from Mishawaka, IN. It's a warm day for Dec. 27th. Rain is on the way with flooding possible. I'm resting before I return to school for the next basketball game. The varsity plays at 2:00 and the bus leaves at 12:30. I left at 7:45 this morning to go with the jv team. I keep the score book when the guys and girls play at the same time. The girls have a tournament at home today so I get to get on the bus and go with the guys.

Sunny and 82 degrees here in Commerce Twp., well not really but I can dream can't I? Actually about 52 degrees out there and the snow is melting. I could wear shorts though, afterall I'am a Finn! lol

Nice long weekend, enjoy everyone!

Not to many people posting today. It is 'Take a break now'- We are. I am cooking hamburger helper and some biscuits for dinner. I am so happy Bill IS NOT a picky eater. ;O)

By Paul Oesterle (Paulwebbtroll) on Saturday, December 27, 2008 - 06:28 pm:

Hey Charlotte! It's 60 here now at about 6:30.
I kept the scorebook for 30 years at our school's away BB games and ran the clock and PA for the home games for the same time span. I didn't ride the bus though. My wife and I drove to the away games. It was a great experience. I met many great people and young athletes. When the third generation of some families started coming through the program, I decided it was time to retire! Keep up the good work!

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Saturday, December 27, 2008 - 07:37 pm:

Yum, Mickill, what you fixed for dinner sounds good to me! After Thanksgiving and Christmas, I'm 'turkeyed' and 'hammed' out. Would like some maple syrup or molasses on the biscuits. :9

By mickill mouse (Ram4) on Saturday, December 27, 2008 - 08:44 pm:

I love butter and honey on my biscuits. I also take biscuits, roll them out thin, put a hot dog in them with what ever you want to put in them, bring in the ends of the biscuits, then roll them up and bake them. The thing I do is put the hot dogs in the microwave for a minute first. There was a can, corn meal, biscuit that made great corn dogs. I liked them because they were not deep fried.

Another thing I cook that Bill loves is- you have a piece of roast beef or steak leftover. Get a box of beef rice a roni, medium size onion. nice size green pepper and 2 TBLS. of soy sauce.low sodium or regular. Put the rice a roni together according to the directions. Put the soy sauce in at that point. Cut the onion into moon- slivered- slices. cut the green pepper the same way. As the rice starts to boil, put the onions and green pepper in, then the meat. Just let everything simmer according to the direction. It tastes a lot like pepper steak. I have even used it without the meat as a side dish. I hate to cook, but when I met Bill I was not going to just have him come home to a cold sandwich or take out all the time. Now that he is (early retirement) retired, I do not cook as much.

By Ken ja Mimi from da UP (Kenjamimi) on Saturday, December 27, 2008 - 09:51 pm:

Around 1:00 this afternoon our temp. was 49.7!! But SO foggy. My driveway is 200' long, and when the traffic was going by, I could hear them, but could not see 'em. I think the birds were walking, too. :o) Snow is really going down.

By Shirley Waggoner (Shirlohio) on Sunday, December 28, 2008 - 09:14 am:

Thanks for the recipes, Mickill, I'm gonna try them. Sounds delicious! Hmmm, my husband is retired but I still hafta cook. Well, not as much as I used to.:) Writing this on Sunday morning...guess Charlie's still asleep. lol

By FJL (Langoman) on Sunday, December 28, 2008 - 10:11 am:

What has a husband being retired have to do with a wife not cooking as much???

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Sunday, December 28, 2008 - 10:18 am:

Some of us wives still work after our husband's retire, so why should we do the cooking when they're home? We cooked all our lives.

By Mary Drew at Pasty Central (Mdrew) on Sunday, December 28, 2008 - 02:17 pm:

I'll chime in on this one, too, Deb...
Some of us wives work THREE jobs after our husbands retire and that's just the ones I get paid for! Hubby says he doesn't mind cooking on the days I work out of the home at all, as long as I keep bringing home the bacon! :->

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Sunday, December 28, 2008 - 02:25 pm:

Yup, how true, Mary. My hubby doesn't mind doing the cooking either. He complains about it, but he doesn't totally dislike it. I totally dislike cooking. It got to the point where you got tired of hearing one or the other complain about what was for supper. Let them see how much fun it isn't.

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Sunday, December 28, 2008 - 02:54 pm:

I spent a fortune on a new kitchen for Precious and since then she has done very little cooking. In order to maintain my girth I had to take over the cooking. To this day she has never complained about my cooking. She was surprised when I did the entire Christmas dinner while she was with her kids choir. Well it has been cold here in Berkley, no power for ten hours. Lost without the computer. No phone not even any cell coverage. Spent the morning with Jimmie talking and cuddling.

By mickill mouse (Ram4) on Sunday, December 28, 2008 - 06:26 pm:

Hey Michael: You had no phone service? do you have comcast?

I do not know if you will read this, but were you anywhere near that garage fire in Berkley? the news said the garage was struck by a downed power line and the wind kept it going.

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Sunday, December 28, 2008 - 07:20 pm:

Mickell, I have WOW and my son in law was at the fire. He is now airing out his fire equipment. Both my son in law Ken Ozanich and my son Justin Du Long are firefighters. Justin is also a Farmington Police Officer. My other son in law is a slacker according to his daughter. She told a police officer once that her Uncle Justin was a policeman, but her dad is only a doctor. Poor Brian doesn't get any respect. LOL I love to brag about my family, they all are super achievers. Best kids, and best inlaw kids anyone could possibly have.

By mickill mouse (Ram4) on Monday, December 29, 2008 - 11:46 pm:

I am glad nobody was injured at that fire with the way the winds kicked up.

You brag all you want about your family. ;O)

I have to go back out to 12 and Woodward and check on something. The weather has been that I do not like to get out to much.

Bill and I are going to take a trip to Lake Linden and Calumet in the springtime, can not wait.
