Top 'o the mornin' to you all. Lovely day today they say.No rain for miles around! Perfect day for dear friends to visit from Door Co. Will show off our minor flooding around here and lunch at Poopy's.Everyone else have a lovely day too. Deb S., tomorrow will be here before you know it.

Morning from flood stricken Cedar Rapids/Palo Iowa! Our Cedar River flood stage is 12ft. we topped 32 ft! Over 4000 homes destroyed, our road is blocked off and guarded 24 hrs. by law officials. One of our hospitals (my employer) completely evacuated. And any other imaginable disaster happened! And our yard is populated by snapping turtles looking for higher grounds! Our house and stable was spared thanks to being on a sandy hill! Plenty of rebuilding for the next 5 or more years.

Janie, so glad to hear from you! My first thought when I saw the last picture in today's slide show was of the pictures on the news this weekend of the flooded University of Iowa. What a tragedy for all those people in Iowa and other flooded areas. L

Does anyone know why the Suomi Rest. in Houghton does not have a sign? It was removed when they remodeled and they haven't replaced it. Just seems they should have a sign. Thanks.

Got back from Aura late Saturday night. Had a great week, even though it rained the first couple days. It's not half bad watching the rain fall on Lake Superior out our window! Enjoyed the Harbor Haus, as usual. Saw more deer than usual, 3 eagles, and our hummingbird feeder on our window was very busy. Tomorrow is my full knee replacement! Hope I'm allowed to make the trip to the Aura Jamboree the third weekend in July. We need to make that bean soup!

Marsha I hope your knee replacement goes well. Take care.

Marsha, Good luck with the knee replacement. The key is the therapy afterwards. Tackle that and you should be fine. Not sure if you will be 100% for the Jamboree but lets hope so you can have a great summer.

Marsha, good luck on the knee. As I get older it takes longer to heel. Took Jimmie the fat white cat for a ride on my three wheeler. He sat so nice on the front basket. Seems to enjoy the ride. Precious thinks that I have to get him a bike helmut now. Andrea the Irish dancer is the MVP for the girls softball teams here. She sure is a good decendent of Yoopers. My side and her dads side all from the Copper Country.

Where has Frank been lately? I miss his tutoral messages.
