Today's photos were snapped over in the Crystal Falls area, by Lois Haglund, but they are good representations of what the leaves are looking like throughout the U.P. That first shot is one of those scenes that makes me want to hop on my bike and pedal to that break in the trees up ahead, just to see what's over the horizon. A walk might be nice too, but with the sprouting leaves and warmer temperatures, we've also got a decent crop of bugs around too, so moving quicker on a bike would keep them away.

Lois' second photo was taken somewhere on the Paint River in the Crystal Falls area. Perhaps someone could chime in with more information on this beautiful spot.

Country Roads Take Me Home.

Mary, I think once you got there, you'd see more of the same and would have to keep pedaling. LOL

Nice spring pictures. Thanks!

One of the quirks about the U.P. is that you could be 50 miles from anywhere...and encounter someone walking or biking...Every time I see it, I find myself thinking "man, thats a looooooooong way back to town..."

Can you call it SISU if they're not Finnish and it isn't winter? :) I'll just call it 'gumption.'

Wow! Mary you have a lot of ambition. That looks like a loooong bike ride and all uphill. You go ahead and then tell me about it.

The new green color. Is spring finally here?

That road look soooo familiar to me. I'm thinking maybe Lind Road?

The section of the Paint doesn't look familiar. Being as wide and calm as it is there, I would guess it was somewhere near Memory Lane.

How'd I do, Lois?

18 days 'til I'm breathing the freshest air in the country. Can't wait to come home!

Nice pictures. And yes, everytime you think you find a spot to yourself, you end up finding someone, or someone finds you!

I'm telling you I wouldn't want to be the one peadling on that stretch of road with the hills. That's like peadling on them hills on the way to Copper Harbor haha. Someone try it and let the rest of us know how it was hehe.

I have been down that road many, many times, but I have no idea where it is.
Haven't we all been down that same road?

Personal note to Mary.......Did your hubby grow up in Escanaba...maybe S. 16th St..Lemmer School area....go to Central Methodist church. Move from Escanaba to Hancock??????

Think we may be long lost friends.....

If that is indeed Lind road, I have peddled that stretch many times (in my youth). I had cousins that lived out in that area.
