We all should take a few lessons from children and dogs on how to enjoy life. Today's photos from Mark Rowe are a perfect example of why. This is the Rowe's Siberian "Angel" racing as fast as can be through a field in Centennial Heights, covered in snow and loving every minute of it. Every day we should try to do something with the joy and wonder of a child or frolicking animal. I'm betting it would be a great way to reduce your stress without medications!

Very pretty dog having a glorious time!

By Chuck Granger (Cgrange) on Saturday, March 8, 2008 - 08:15 am:

Mark,

Great picture of Angel. Wish we were there. We are going to see Jeremy, Easton and Betsy at the hockey game today as the Copper Kings go for a State title. Go Kings. See you all this summer. 102 days but whose counting.

I was watching my dog Lulu this morning running and rolling in the snow, I just looked out the door and laughed. Yes children and dogs sure know how to enjoy life. We as adult's should take a life lesson from them. I want to let all know that the Calumet "COPPER KINGS", are in the state high school finals being held in Plymouth, Mi at the Compueware arena on Beck road off M-14. The game start's at 3:00 P.M.-"GO KINGS" Hope to see a lot of "PASTY-CAM" members there !

An Angel in doggie heaven!

By Anita Marsy-Bosley (Anitamb) on Saturday, March 8, 2008 - 08:25 am:

Mary, I agree with you 100%. Kids and dogs really know how to enjoy life and we could all take a lesson from them. I used to have an Alaskan Malamute....when the winter storms were at their worst she was loving every minute of it. She would NOT come in the house!

By Richard L. Barclay (Notroll) on Saturday, March 8, 2008 - 08:39 am:

A snow-shark surfacing in the first photo! Great timing on that one. Love it. The second looks like someone making a scary face, I'm going to get you.

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Saturday, March 8, 2008 - 10:06 am:

Angel was born and bred to be a "Yooper Dog"! Does she pull a sled?

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Saturday, March 8, 2008 - 10:28 am:

I love today's pictures, with Snow Dog, especially the first one--that one is just awesome! Thank you, Mark Rowe and and Mary.

And, good luck to the Calumet Copper Kings and the Midland High Chemics, in their quests for Mich State Championship Hockey titles, in their respective divisions, in Plymouth, today & tonight! Best Wishes, guys!

By Uncle Chuck @ Little Betsy (Unclechuck) on Saturday, March 8, 2008 - 10:50 am:

Great Picture's, what a good looking dog!

By Tim Holland (Tholland) on Saturday, March 8, 2008 - 11:48 am:

Dogs and deep snow are a great combination, unless it's a Dachshund, I suppose.

By 69 TOOT (Flyindamooney) on Saturday, March 8, 2008 - 12:56 pm:

My final year at Tech I had a huge Malamute named Zero, for his IQ, which was a great lovable dog I bought from some old lady in Bootjack. He loved the snow too.

By Snowman (Snowman) on Saturday, March 8, 2008 - 03:25 pm:

Especially if it's a male Dachshund, it would leave 5 imprints in the snow.

By kosk in Toronto (Koskintoronto) on Saturday, March 8, 2008 - 04:01 pm:

We're just back from a walk in the park with our dog. He had such
a good time running back and forth in the fresh snow that it
couldn't help but put a smile on your face. We're expecting a total
of 10-12" of fresh snow before this storm is over.

By E. Neil Harri (Ilmayksi) on Saturday, March 8, 2008 - 05:32 pm:

Calumet wins one to nothing in overtime at Compuserve area. This news from correspondant Roudy on the ground in Plymouth.

By Eddyfitz (Eddyfitz) on Saturday, March 8, 2008 - 05:39 pm:

Todays state championship in hockey.

Division 3 - Calumet 1, Flint Powers Catholic 0

By David J. Whitten (Djwhitten) on Saturday, March 8, 2008 - 05:58 pm:

And the arena crowd was more Yoopers and Yooper wan-a-bees than folks from Flint.
UP POWER!

By Mike (Upboundeh) on Saturday, March 8, 2008 - 06:18 pm:

Mary you said it all! Mother nature finally got my post card and dropped a nice blanket of snow (12 inches or so) down here in Ohio. The kids and I were diving in our front yard and having a blast. Wished I would have ordered a snow scoop a lot sooner though. We are covered in White Gold! Cant wait to move back up to the UP!

"WE WON"!!!!!!!!!!!!

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Saturday, March 8, 2008 - 09:15 pm:

After I finished the snow blowing I was tempted to make a snow angel for Precious. Then I remembered last summer when I decided to lay on the grass and look at the clouds drifting by. Got real comfortable and fell asleep. Sudenly I woke up to see the police and fire truck parked on the street and the ambulance pulling up. Someone had called 911 about the old man under the big oak tree dead. The fire man and the police man were worried about me. All I wanted to do was to get up and avoid the embaressment that I was sure would be coming. Swearing them to secrecy they departed. Then on Sunday one of the big mouths in town asked Precious how I was doing since all the commotion at our house during the week. Had to explain to everyone that I was just watching the clouds. So I rethougt about making snow angels. The other thing was I may not have been able to get up from the snow bank. Hard getting old.

By Ken ja Mimi from da UP (Kenjamimi) on Saturday, March 8, 2008 - 09:50 pm:

Good one, Mikie! Made a big smile. :o) I haven't made an angel since my girls were young. Lonngg time ago.

By Ken ja Mimi from da UP (Kenjamimi) on Saturday, March 8, 2008 - 09:59 pm:

Pytavay, 'spring ahead' with the clocks tonight. Yes, already. Holy Wah!

By Lisa Pugh (Leisel) on Saturday, March 8, 2008 - 10:15 pm:

Loved Mikie's story! The last snow angel I made was earlier this winter when we got the sauna a bit too hot. I needed a cool-down and there was some nice fresh snow beckoning, so I took advantage of it! It helped that it was dark out and we don't have any close neighbors, so I didn't have to worry about a reception like Mikie got. :)

By Uncle Chuck @ Little Betsy (Unclechuck) on Sunday, March 9, 2008 - 12:02 am:

Got me laughing, way to go Mikie!

By Cheryl Rozman (Cotton) on Sunday, March 9, 2008 - 01:35 am:

Mikie, you always know how to put a smile on one's face. We love your humor.

By kosk in Toronto (Koskintoronto) on Sunday, March 9, 2008 - 07:07 am:

You're a free spirit, Mikie. Way to go!

By JH (Thumbgardener) on Sunday, March 9, 2008 - 09:25 am:
