This will be the first year our family has ever been apart on Christmas. Jonathan and Becky have their own families now, he is out east and she is out west. Today just happens to be Becky's birthday as well. Later this week Edie and I will celebrate our 35th anniversary, too. And then next week is Becky and Bryan's anniversary. What a month!

By Theresa R. Brunk (Trb0013) on Monday, December 17, 2007 - 06:31 am:

Happy Birthday Becky! And Good Morning All.

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Monday, December 17, 2007 - 07:00 am:

Good morning! It's tough to see your family grow up and move away. I hope it doesn't happen to me, but I'm sure at some point it will.

Great month for you Charlie. I wish I could say the same. We go down for my son's pre-op appt. today and then surgery tomorrow. The nerves are pretty raw right now for everybody in this family.

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Monday, December 17, 2007 - 07:04 am:

Good Morning, Everyone! Midland was one of the last to call a snow day, at 3:45 am. All of the school districts that I know of, anyway, in our region are now closed for the day, today. Stay safe and warm today!

Happy Birthday, Becky. I thought Jonathan was still in Eagle River?

By Margaret, Amarillo TX (Margaret) on Monday, December 17, 2007 - 07:41 am:

Mornin' gonna be a bit warmer today--20s.

By John W (Jwahtola) on Monday, December 17, 2007 - 08:14 am:

We have all the schools closed here in Hillsdale County Michigan thanks to 10 to 12 inches of snow over the weekend. We were trying to catch up with the Keweenaw amount of snow in one day. If the Ice we have been having were snow we would be closer to the Keweenaw amount.
I would rather have snow than ice any day.

By Brooke (Lovethekeweenaw) on Monday, December 17, 2007 - 08:56 am:

The kids must be happy. I am very sorry that the bad Karma my downstate friends recieved by laughing at me up here in the snow affected the rest of you good people. Lets hope it doesn't melt so there will be a white christmas this year.

By Brooke (Lovethekeweenaw) on Monday, December 17, 2007 - 08:57 am:

Also, I will be thinking of you all today Deb.

By kathie Murto (Murtomania) on Monday, December 17, 2007 - 09:30 am:

Deb, what type of surgery is your son having? My thoughts and prayers will be with you both today and especially tomorrow.

By Janet Boatman (Janetnwohio) on Monday, December 17, 2007 - 09:52 am:

Deb I will remember your family in my prayers and know the arms of God will be around your family tomorrow. Charlie, Clark and I celebrated our 48th anniversary was last week and he told one of our friends yep 48 and 35 was very happy, and that is why it has lasted so long it takes humor to last that long. Best wishes on your anniversary.

By Tom (Tom) on Monday, December 17, 2007 - 11:55 am:

Good luck to your son, Deb and Mr. Deb.

By JARMO ITÄNIEMI (Japei) on Monday, December 17, 2007 - 12:42 pm:

I missed someone laughing at you, Brooke?

This looks like it will be a snowy winter, all over Michigan, like snowier than maybe back to the early 1980's? One of the mid-Michigan meteorologists predicted a white Christmas long before Thanksgiving. We have plenty of snow here. I've long said that the one day of the year that I want to be white is Christmas, and unless it gets up to 80, and even that might not be enough to thaw it before Christmas. A white Christmas seems to be assured now. :-)

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Monday, December 17, 2007 - 04:08 pm:

To Deb, Mr Deb, and son, my thoughts and prayers are with you for tomorrow, for the surgery to go well, and for a full recovery! Hugs!

By Snowman (Snowman) on Monday, December 17, 2007 - 05:29 pm:

His name is Ryan and I am praying for him.
