A few toys laying around the grounds of the Eagle Harbor Lighthouse, as seen on this day in 1999.

Welcome to a new month :o) Hope to see everyone at Pasty Fest on June 30, for a free pasty around noon in Agassiz Park in Calumet.

By Paul Oesterle (Paulwebbtroll) on Friday, June 1, 2007 - 04:56 am:

Good morning!

By Michael Du Long (Mikie) on Friday, June 1, 2007 - 05:26 am:

good morning starting another day in the middle of the night.

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Friday, June 1, 2007 - 06:40 am:

Good Morning, Everyone! Happy Friday! Have a good weekend!

I hope you are managing to stay cool. It was 90 here yesterday!

Congratulations on your Early Bird, Paulwebbtroll. Wow, some of you get up early in the morning! Mikie, I hope you & Precious can get comfortable enough so that you can sleep through the night soon!

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Friday, June 1, 2007 - 06:53 am:

Good morning. Happy it's Friday except for the long day I'm putting in today and have to work tomorrow morning. Oh well, anything's better than a 2 hour bus ride with a bunch of 2nd graders. Now THAT was loud!! Have a great day.

By southern Michigan (Maddy) on Friday, June 1, 2007 - 07:00 am:

Hey Bronc,

Are you still looking every day? I'm here, too.

By Margaret, Amarillo TX (Margaret) on Friday, June 1, 2007 - 07:03 am:

Now who left their toys out?

By Happy to be in the U.P. (Lahelo) on Friday, June 1, 2007 - 07:27 am:

Right in the middle of the yard yet of all places!

By Janie T. (Bobbysgirl) on Friday, June 1, 2007 - 07:44 am:

Happy June to All! Goodness the years seem to sneek by faster and faster!

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Friday, June 1, 2007 - 08:02 am:

The real question is, how big were the waves in Superior that day?? ;-)

By maija in Commerce Township (Maija) on Friday, June 1, 2007 - 08:27 am:

Deb S: you should try working in a middle school where you hear that din between every class and totally during lunch.

All I crave is SILENCE, particularly by Superior!

By eugenia r. thompson (Ert) on Friday, June 1, 2007 - 09:33 am:

Maija, I know what you mean! Since I retired from teaching middle school almost exactly a year ago, one of the things I've enjoyed most is the SILENCE! Often we don't even play any music here at the house -- we just listen to the silence!

By P&G, New Yoopers (Gormfrog) on Friday, June 1, 2007 - 09:38 am:

June first...that time of year again in the U.P.....
the shortest distance between two points is under construction!

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Friday, June 1, 2007 - 09:51 am:

I think Gormfrog's statement could be widened to "...that time of the year again in the state of Michigan, when the shortest distance between two points is always under construction (also known as cone zones)."

By Brooke (Lovethekeweenaw) on Friday, June 1, 2007 - 02:12 pm:

Good afternoon all! First chance I had to look today been doing inventory at work since 7, anyone want my job? If I have to count another hinge I am going to scream!

By Rowdy (Roudymi) on Friday, June 1, 2007 - 02:25 pm:

Your sanity hinges on hinges?

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Friday, June 1, 2007 - 02:33 pm:

Hmmm, thats begs the question.....

How many hinges must Brooke count before Brooke becomes "un-hinged"????

By Cindy Pihlaja Russell (Gone2long) on Friday, June 1, 2007 - 02:38 pm:

I think Brooke would like to close the door on the inventory subject.

By paul (Pungvait) on Friday, June 1, 2007 - 03:11 pm:

don't forget Trains, Tractors, and More at Houghton County Historical Society, Lake Linden.
Saturday 10 to 4, Sunday 12 to 4

By Brooke (Lovethekeweenaw) on Friday, June 1, 2007 - 03:18 pm:

My coworkers now think I am unhinged, to alleviate boredome I convinced the truck driver to yell in the industrial fan to see if it ecco's different than the ones at home. Slightly louder but I am unimpressed. Apparently 2 adults in their 30's don't normally come up with that sort of thing to pass time.

By Cindy Pihlaja Russell (Gone2long) on Friday, June 1, 2007 - 03:42 pm:

I think on a beautiful Friday afternoon when most of the office has already gone home, a lot of strange things happen to pass the time. I was seriously considering a nap myself. I have to rest up for my busy night of dancing at my friend's birthday party. Bailar!

By Janet Boatman (Janetnwohio) on Friday, June 1, 2007 - 04:04 pm:

Has anybody seen on Sharon Smith's how foggy it is, nice day to sit and watch the fog roll by.

By Marianne Y (Marianne) on Friday, June 1, 2007 - 04:28 pm:

It's really interesting to see how different the weather is between foggy Copper Harbor & sunny bright Houghton on the various web cams up there this afternoon!

By FJL (Langoman) on Friday, June 1, 2007 - 04:45 pm:

Taking a nap on State of Mich. taxpayers money!! Maybe the State could cut the dead wood out and save some payroll...:) Just a thought...

By FJL (Langoman) on Friday, June 1, 2007 - 04:47 pm:

Only kidding.......

By gretchen arnold (Garnold) on Friday, June 1, 2007 - 05:10 pm:

ok U.P. here we come! Leaving tonight for our week stay in Gay. Hope the wheather is good but don't care if it's not! YaHoo! Peace and quiet, don't call me I'll call you.

By Capt. Paul (Eclogite) on Friday, June 1, 2007 - 07:27 pm:

Apparently 2 adults in their 30's don't normally come up with that sort of thing to pass time.

You'd be surprised what the Dr. and I have come up; things that seemed like a good idea at the time ;-)

By Vicky P (Vickyp) on Friday, June 1, 2007 - 09:55 pm:

Okay Capt - now I'm curious!

By Just me (Jaby) on Friday, June 1, 2007 - 10:12 pm:

I heard that Mary Drew's mom was flown downstate for medical treatment because of an anuerysm. We have to keep them in our prayers!

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Saturday, June 2, 2007 - 07:18 am:

maija! No thank you on the noise in between classrooms. I used to work in a library in an elememtary school. At least they had to be quiet in there but when they were out in the halls it was a different story.

Oh Mary, if it isn't one thing it's another. Will be praying for your mom now, as well as Kevin.
