Most people, when they talk about moving, mean actually moving to a different house, not moving their house to a new location. Eight years ago, the PastyCam spotted this house moving through the streets of Laurium, ending up next to the Laurium Manor Inn.

Good Morning! I think you win the Early Bird this morning, Mikie. Congratulations!

We had heavy rain & thunderstorms last night, throughout the night, & through the early morning today. They were what my younger two sons call "thunderboomers" since some of them were strong enough to almost shake our house a tiny bit! The rains have really quieted down now. I don't know how much rain we got, or what its affect on river levels around here will be, yet.

One good morning on the What'sUp is enough to grab the EarlyBird away from Deb, Mikie! :))

Good morning. I wanted to thank Sur5er for posting about my husband getting the kidney transplant from our daughter last week. Also thank you for all the thoughts and prayers.
The transplant was done at Ann Arbor on the 12th and was a success. But 2 days later he had a clot in the artery leading into the kidney. They had to do surgery again. The doctors said when this happens, 90% of the time they lose the kidney due to losing blood supply to it. They were able to remove the clot and flush the kidney. The tests are showing that it is getting a good blood flow through it. But it could take a few months for it to start working. We were told that there is about a 50/50 chance that it will work. So many people are praying for this. Thank you again.

Thanks all, I have been busy today and haven't gotten around to thanking all the people who have made my award possible. I would like to start with Dean who was too busy to post early, and I would also like to thank whoever gave me this cold since I can't sleep in like I would normally do. And last I would like to thank Jimmie the fat white cat who is my biggest and possibly my only fan since Precious had to go to work and was not in the best mood this morning. Thank you one and all.

Good for you, Mikie! I'm praying for you and your family,
Thumbgardener.

Well, our family did make it to the UP for Fri. and Sat. in the
Ishpeming area where we visited with our daughter. We had a
grand time snowshoeing and hiking in the snow. We also did
get to go ice fishing out at the camp. The ice was 18" thick. I
was still scared, but our dog, usually terrified of water, was out
there criss-crossing the lake, literally running on water. Pasties
were downed, good food and good times were had by all. These
memories will keep us all going til our son/brother/relative/
friend returns to Fort Lewis from Iraq in the Fall. He'll be
exhausted when his two week leave ends on Monday.

By Laurie B. (Ratherberiding) on Thursday, March 22, 2007 - 10:26 pm:

Kosk,
One of these times you'll have to let me know where you go in Ishpeming. I think our snowshoeing days are done for the season. I may give it one more go tomorrow and see how it is. But with 50's predicted for the next few days, it sounds like our snow will be melting.

By kosk in Toronto (Koskintoronto) on Thursday, March 22, 2007 - 10:48 pm:

Laurie,

I think you're right. I just talked with my daughter tonight.
We go to National Mine. Would that be called a suburb of
Ishpeming?

By Deb S. (Usedtobeayooper) on Friday, March 23, 2007 - 07:07 am:

Congrats, Mikie! Your acceptance speech was nothing short of brilliant as always. lol

Judy, we'll be thinking about your family and keeping you in our prayers.

Kosk, So glad you had a great time while in the UP. How can you not, right?

By kosk in Toronto (Koskintoronto) on Friday, March 23, 2007 - 05:17 pm:

So true, Deb!
