Toivo from Toivola on Saturday, December 4, 2004 - 08:20 am:

That's right - - I said rain. Not the sound I wanted to wake up to this morning. Last night I saw Don Kauppi on TV-6 telling how great the trails were already this year, so I fired up the snowmobile to get an early start this morning. But about 5am a tropical monsoon hit, so I goes back to bed, knowing it's probably pretty mucky out in the woods. Then I wakes up remembering it's Saturday, and my turn at the Pasty Cam.
38
About 25 degrees instead of 38, and light, fluffy snow - - that's what I'd rather see. Bobbi Jean Litsenberger had some in her Guest Gallery album. So, just call this one Toivo's Choice. As flaky as this weather is, it will probably look this way again by this time tomorrow 8^/

Good Morning from Georgia

By RKJ St Paul on Saturday, December 4, 2004 - 08:25 am:

First Post?

Not quite, RKJ, we recognize the Early Bird over on the "
What'sUP" page, and this morning it's JARMO ITÄNIEMI, looking for his Aunt Helmi and Uncle Uno. He have got letterpaper :o}

By John from the prairie on Saturday, December 4, 2004 - 08:36 am:

I remember as a kid, slush for halloween, and a good blanket of
snow by thanksgiving. Now its a miracle if there's snow by
january 1 around here.

Toivo, at least you didnt remember it was your day for PastyCam
while out on the trails!

By maijaMI on Saturday, December 4, 2004 - 09:16 am:

So sorry for the mush and slush you guys are having. That's what we can endure all winter down here! Winter should never get above 32 degrees!

By Margaret, Amarillo TX on Saturday, December 4, 2004 - 09:18 am:

Well, it's 30 here now and up to 57 by noon. Sorry for the slush ride. I love the pictures though. Great shots of small details. Love It!!

By Yooper on Saturday, December 4, 2004 - 09:39 am:

I guess I wouldn't complain about the rain right now. You'll have plenty of chances to go out and snowmobile. It's only the beginning of December...you've got January, February, March...oh and April! lol

A pasty would be nice right about now...well...for lunch!

By Finlander's wife on Saturday, December 4, 2004 - 09:47 am:

The only thing about this new format that I'm not so fond of, is that I miss the "early bird" post on this page!!!!!!!!! It seems ackward to have it on the 'what's up page. Just my 2 cents anyway...

By Dave, Cairo on Saturday, December 4, 2004 - 09:53 am:

Margaret,

Well it's 78 here now, but that's all they promised. :-)

Tomorrow (in the desert) it should be much warmer. :-)

Back in the land of Ramses!!!

By Spoontroll, Shelby twp. MI on Saturday, December 4, 2004 - 10:17 am:

Good morning from a chilly but dry trollville. I agree with Finlanders wife. Although I do like the new format, it only seems right that the early bird remain on the main section. Perhaps a gift idea for us all from Charlie...hee..hee..

It rained?

By Yooper Finn on Saturday, December 4, 2004 - 01:11 pm:

Finlander's wife:
It seems ackward to have it on the 'what's up page.

Ya, one click on a link, boy dat's "ackward", eh?

By Theresa Colorado on Saturday, December 4, 2004 - 01:20 pm:

I agree
with all these people. Early Bird should be on the main page.... What do you think ..Charlie and Mary????

By Keep it off this page on Saturday, December 4, 2004 - 01:41 pm:

I vote for keeping early bird off this page, and on the What's UP. These comments are meant for pic of the day, not a competition for those "Good Morning Everyone" early birds.

By late riser on Saturday, December 4, 2004 - 02:16 pm:

I agree, keep early bird where it is and off of this page.

By L-O-V-E Pastycam! on Saturday, December 4, 2004 - 02:20 pm:

Whoa! Early bird controversy! C'mon kids, fight nice or we'll all get tossed out in the snow/slush!!
By the way, I L-O-V-E how the snow looks in the trees and shrubs and grasses.... Thanks, Toivo and Bobbi Jean. Even here in my NJ back yard, the trees become a wondrous thing after a snowfall. I'm waiting for a nice fuffy (weekend!) storm so I can enjoy- snowshoeing, and yep! Hot Chocolate.. Yummmm!
Tho, in the 30+years I've lived here, there have been many more 'brown' winters than white ones:( Hope springs eternal!

By walter p tampa on Saturday, December 4, 2004 - 05:00 pm:

By Reg on Saturday, December 4, 2004 - 05:51 pm:

I also agree, please keep early bird and good morning posts off of this page.

By John, Livonia, MI. on Saturday, December 4, 2004 - 06:23 pm:

Yooper, It is never too early for a pasty.

By Down State Dave on Saturday, December 4, 2004 - 06:58 pm:

Yooper, It is never too late for a pasty either!

Any time is pasty time,
Any time you care to dine.
Slurp on catsup, tastes so fine,
Just eat yours, don't try for mine! ;>)

BJ, great picture! good eye for detail.

By Sofia L, Norway on Saturday, December 4, 2004 - 08:33 pm:

Hi there. Just wanted to tell the world that I just became an auntie for the 25th time!! Debra "Debbie" Marttila of Hancock/UP (who's married to my brother Christer, and now lives in Stockholm, Sweden) gave born to a lovely little son on Friday, Dec.3rd, at 08:19pm. His name will be Levi Clarence, he weighed 4,2kg (ca. 9,3lb) and measured 53cm (almost 21 inches, or is it 1foot 7"?) Whatever...
I'm happy, and so are the proud parents, and I wish them good luck and God blessings.
To all who knows them - Hi from me to you all!!!

By John, Livonia on Saturday, December 4, 2004 - 11:38 pm:

Down State Dave....You already messed up the pasty. You used catsup, not ketchup.

By Julianna Marttila, Houghton, Michigan on Friday, January 28, 2005 - 11:53 am:

hey guess what?! I know debbie! She's my
dad's sister, which makes her my aunt! Cool,
huh? I was just messing around and typed in
her name and this came up! I was so
pumped! That's so cool! I'm am really happy to
have another cousin! Goody Luck!
