Charlie,

Last week someone started talking about ancesters etc.

would it be possible to set up a seperate discussion
page for everyone to talk about their ancesters, where there from and how they traced it.

I've done a lot with family history and would be
interested in sharing and learning from others.

By maijaMI on Monday, November 15, 2004 - 08:30 am:

Bob: great idea, and if you scroll up, you'll see that Charlie has done just that!

By Charlie at Pasty Central on Monday, November 15, 2004 - 08:32 am:

Bob,

Great idea. You will notice a link above to a new discussion about Ancestors. Now we need to figure out how forum pages like this can become part of a directory for ongoing access (not just part of this day or this week.)

By Ms. Katie on Monday, November 15, 2004 - 10:03 am:

Bob and Charlie. I, too, would love a site about our ancestors in the UP.

A question about netiquette: I post a question, get mailed an answer, mail back my thanks, and get a reply saying I'm welcome. Do I thanks-mail again?

Not necessary danbury, but cute question, that could go on forever if you keep thanking! Of course if you'd like to have the last word...go ahead! :->

By pungvait mi on Monday, November 15, 2004 - 12:59 pm:

that's no 10 pointer in the picture-it's the gerbil!

By danbury, no longer puzzled on Monday, November 15, 2004 - 04:02 pm:

Yeah, like that sketch/joke about the English, about the clichče that it's polite to end every sentence with a question - and of course politeness dictates not to leave any question unanswered - so there's these two gentlemen, standing together, taking turns in saying: "Yes it is, isn't it?" "Yes it is, isn't it?" "Yes it is, isn't it?" ... etc etc etc ...
Well, you answered my question, so I'll take you up on the offer: Thank you! :D

Glad to be of help!

By maijaMI on Monday, November 15, 2004 - 04:18 pm:

Danbury: please put what you know about your ancestors on the 'ancestor' page.

By Movie Star on Monday, November 15, 2004 - 08:40 pm:

The men are hunting and the women are shopping. Not many posts today...

By Therese from just below the bridge on Monday, November 15, 2004 - 09:29 pm:

Movie Star, you think all women are shopping? Some of us spent a long day at work 'saving lives and stamping out disease', as our unofficial motto runs (at the Microbiology lab where I work). Other women I know are sitting out there in their blinds, waiting for a big buck. So we are as diverse as the men, some of whom I'm sure worked all day today and couldn't care less about the Hunt.

By Candy, CA on Monday, November 15, 2004 - 11:24 pm:

Therese from just below the bridge, "Movie Star" may have just been making an observation that there's not a lot of chatter...she (or he?) likely didn't mean anything disrespectful. I noticed the lack of yakking, too, but didn't think it was because of hunting/shopping.

By Bud on Monday, November 15, 2004 - 11:27 pm:

Lighten up Therese. Didn't see the word "all" in Movie Star's post.
