I'm going to leave the exact location of this serene scene to our viewers or the photographer, Ray Laakaniemi, if he can chime in. The only details I have are from Ray's Guest Gallery, saying that this is Cable Lake and it's in north Iron County. Sure is a beautiful place to come to when you need to get away from the hustle and bustle of the world. You can see some beginnings of fall color in this shot, too. It's quite amazing right now when you're driving around, as the color change is quite pronounced in some spots and just beginning to get a hue in other areas, like this shot.

Starting to look like fall.

WOW. Really nice; would love to be there right now!

This is actually the boat landing site at Cable Lake. To get there you go 10 miles north from Amasa (or some distance south from Covington) on 41, then 8 miles in through some rugged hunting country which ought to be beautiful as leaf season approaches. I am told the fishing there is quite good.

It's actually off US-141 south of Covington. The fishing there is excellent, especially with a fly-rod for panfish in the evening. It's also a peaceful lake to fish; no speedboats or jetskies to contend with, at least the last time I was there.....
