Congratulations and thank you Charlie for all the years of wonderful U.P. photos. Like many others, I visit this site every day because so much of my heart remains in the U.P. and it's the next best thing to being there! It's a strong connection. Think I'll order some pasties to celebrate your efforts and send as a surprise to my son and his family who live downstate. They've just had their 2nd baby, a girl, and sister for their son, so life is hectic! I'm sure they'd enjoy a night off of cooking provided by a far away Grandmother! I look forward to having ten more years of glimpses of the U.P. through other's eyes.

So I got on the PastyCam this morning and saw that today was its 10th birthday, and it got me thinking "what kind of a present should I give for this special day"?? At first I thought maybe a card, but then I remembered I don't speak PastyCam's language that well, so I passed. Then I thought maybe a gift like a nice t-shirt, but I don't believe they make a t-shirt that big (especially after eating pasties everyday for 10 years straight!!), so again I passed. I even thought about giving PastyCam my cold/virus I've had for a few days now, but then Charlie might ban me for life from the site, so I'll keep that to myself ;-)

In the end, I just decided to wish PastyCam a very happy 10th birthday by posting a message on it's board, and commend the people behind the scenes who make it possible everyday with a HUGE thank you and "cyber" pat-on-the-back for a job well done!!!!!

Congratulations on your 10th anniversary. "You've come a long way baby!!!!" We're all looking forward to many more years with you. All of your hard work has paid off with us being able to share our beautiful little part of our world, our UP of Michigan with people from all over the world. Quite an achievement pasty crew.

Your photos of Laapland are wonderful, Japei. Funny isn't it, people are people no matter what part of this world. I can see how the Finish people relateted to the UP, the same beautiful scenery. Japei,the pictures are just beautiful.I especially like the wild blueberries. I have tame bushes in my yard.They are quite large plants.Looks like I will have a good crop this year.

So Fran just when do the blueberries ripen in Georgia? Where was it you said you lived? Not that I would ever stoop so low as to steal blueberries, don't get that idea, now rasberries are another case. Does anyone know when the Michigan strawberries will be out? I am so sick of strawberries that have no taste.

Congratulations on ten years of constant "getting better" (improvement sounds too much like it was needed, which wasn't the case).

There's always a strawberry festival in Chassell the weekend after the 4th of July. I have relatives from Indiana who pick strawberries somewhere by Dollar Bay & make big amounts of strawberry jam to take home with them.

Mikie,guess what? I also have a few raspberry bushes.They are young tho so I am not sure of what I will get this yr. Hal started them the summer before he passed away. It is odd, our blueberries used to ripen for Fathers Day but now it is in July. What I wouldn't give for some CC strawberries.When we were young,Bill Niemala used to hire people from $Bay to pick his berries. We had a lot of fun.

Fran, I have a cousin in Georgia, I am going to start him looking for your yard. He isn't too smart so the berries will probably be ripend and gone by the time he finds them. My favorite fruits though are peaches and apricotts. My mom used to make apricott tarts whenever she made pasties. They were always the best part of the meal. I am glad you have such good memories of Hal, lots of people forget their loved ones once they have passed on. I just hope I go before Precious, don't know how I could handle loosing her. If you see an old man in your garden just tell him he has the wrong house and he will believe you. Like I said he isn't too bright.

Looks like Pasty.net was out late last night for it's 10th Birthday. Boy I wonder how long it will take after it's 21st Birthday
